Anyone who knew Colin knew that he was not a morning person. Not even for Quidditch and definitely not for breakfast. Unfortunately for him, most of his classes are early in the morning and despite his various attempt to bribe the house elves to send the food up to his dorm, they hadn't been complying to his request, even when he asked them nicely. Well, short of buying them clothes to free them...though technically he wouldn't be freeing them since he was not their master.
Anyway, morning was not Colin's favourite time of the day. He groaned, chewing on his toast with half-opened eyes. Every now he winced when he heard a loud noise. It was just his luck to be a Gryffindor and sharing the damn table with a bunch of loud people. Can't they put their books down slowly? He wondered often why it was a challenge for his housemates to do anything without drawing attention from people of another continent. Maybe they weren't that loud, still, he noted a few glares from the Ravenclaw table when a Gryffindor claimed a seat. Yup, they were a loud bunch.

Olive had taken the mighty responsibility of keeping Colin in check. As the teams self-appointed co-captain she took this responsibility with great heart, and focused all eyes on Colin. Colin... she sighed. He was a brilliant keeper but not much at anything else. He slept through most things and if it weren't for her insistence at hounding him away he might just have fallen asleep during finals last term. She tailed him at every chance she got and anywhere she could within reason. If it hadn't been for her getting scolded by school authorities for entering the boys bathroom she would continue to do so to make sure he wasn't there slacking. He needed to be whipped into shape and she was more than willing to handle that.
She tailed not far behind him and watched as he dodged the Gryffindor table and took a right, seating himself among the ravenclaws. She scowled to herself but thought nothing of it, following right along him. The moment he plopped down she plopped down right beside him. Olive frowned at his half away face, the face that read 'I'm just going to fall asleep in my plate of eggs'. Oh no. No no no. Certainly not on her watch.
Olive grabbed a glass of water beside her, took a sip to refresh herself and tapped Colin on the shoulder to get his attention "Hey Colin, look at me" she asked.. or rather, ordered.

Somewhere between his first piece toast and the current one he was chewing, Colin started to fall asleep again. It was a natural occurrence that no one paid any attention to his inability to stay awake before twelve in the afternoon. No one even pointed out how he had sat at the Ravenclaw table either, they were used to him wandering about at random table. Just yesterday he was fell right to sleep on the shoulder of a scared first year Slytherin. Fortunately for him, despite the fact he can't seemed to stay awake, no one ever dared to prank him. Over the years he had brushed it off as people not caring to pick on the sleepy guy, but it could be because he could turn pretty demonic when forced to stay awake. Most professors have even tolerated having him half-awake as long as he kept his grades up. So far he hadn't got anything under 'Acceptable' except that one year where he had gotten a 'Dreadful' from Herbology. He had made it up since, well...since he didn't to re-pot another one of those screaming Mandrakes.
Of course, not everyone get the memo of never wake him up when he was halfway into dreamland. He groaned when he heard her voice, the all too familiar voice belonging to Olive. Yes, Olive, apparently having the Headmaster forbade her entry into the boys' dorm had not deter the girl. "Whaddya want?" he mumbled, resuming to chew on his toast. He didn't even care to open his eyes properly, he needed at least another hour of sleep to tolerate her.

Olive puckered her lips as if she had just eaten something very sour, this was typically the face she made when things didn't go as she wanted, when people didn't listen to her and it frustrated her so much that all she wanted to do was bite them. Yes bite but that wasn't a normal behavior and she recalled throughout her childhood her mother stating with much concern after the third incident that no olive, You just can't bite people because you're mad. And so she had developed this habit in lieu of the former. As she hesitated there making that face she reminded herself that despite all this he was still the love of her life. Not that she would ever show it... but still.
"Colin" she repeated, this time more sincere. "...I'm sorry"
And with that she grabbed the toast out of his hand and held it from him like in a game of 'keep away', and in one fell swoop splashed the cup of water right into his face. As if that weren't enough she slapped him in the face, one--two times just to be sure that he was fully awake.
"You cant keep falling asleep. Not if we're going to win" she said with such a tone of sincerity in her voice it was hard to imagine she had just up and slapped him silly. And with that said she politely returned the toast back in his hand and focused on gathering her own breakfast, perfectly calm and collected. Just another day for Olive.

He often wondered what he had done wrong in his life to deserve the attention of Olive. Was he a bad child? Was he a terrible person? No, he was neither good nor bad, he had his moments but most of the time he had remained civil with everyone. Well, except Olive and he can't say he was sorry for that considering how she followed him like a puppy. Others might have found that flattering, but he found her obsession for him suffocating. He tried to be at least not out rightly rude to her, but even a Saint would curse her and damn her.
His name on her lips made him shudder. It was terrifying, like someone running their nails over a chalkboard, making your hair stood to its end. Her apology...and...SLAP. He really wish he had a good reflex this early, unfortunately his brain was still playing catch up and he couldn't avoid her slaps. Two of them, both he was sure he didn't deserve.
"WHAT THE HELL, GREENE?" he yelled, eyes about to pop out of their sockets. Water droplets dripped from his chin, falling onto the table. He was on his feet, he definitely did not deserved the bath either. He was just glad it was water and not some kind of sweetened drink. It was by far one of the craziest thing Olive had done ever since he became the centre of his attention. Well, at least what he was aware of. He tried not to think too much of what she had done and he was not aware of. It could lead to too many crazy he was never going to be prepared for.
He was burning with anger when he saw her so calm and collected, gathering her breakfast while he was breathing heavily, considering whether hexing her to next week was a good idea. He decided it was not worth the detention. "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?" his voice was loud, booming across the Great Hall earning the attention of several students. It was not new to them, how he tend to lose his mind over Olive's antiques, but they still seemed to be interested as if he was some sort of an attraction at a circus. Well, he could very well be.

It was not in fact one of the 'craziest' things she had done. In regards to the other sorts of crazy she had occupied herself with, this was by all means quite 'normal'. Olive hummed to herself quaintly as she smeared orange marmalade on her toast, taking great deal to cover every edge of the toast thoughtfully as she ignored Colins sudden outburst. When she finally finished covering the entire area with the sticky marmalade she rolled her eyes. Honestly, Colin could be so dramatic sometimes. Why couldn't he just get that she was doing this for his own good and accept his faith. Maybe take greater strides to awaken and pay attention more in class. Then she wouldn't have to do this.
Olive rolled her eyes and took a bite, chewing it thoughtfully as she left him to simmer. When she finally finished her first bite she licked the jelly off the side of her lip and scowled at him.
"Oh quit being so dramatic and sit down. You've barely touched your breakfast and I don't want us to be late for charms." she returned to her breakfast, swallowing the piece of toast down with a glug of pumpkin juice and she gasped suddenly remembering why she came down here in the first place,
"Oh! Charms! You finished your homework right?" she asked, wondering if they would spend the rest of this morning playing catch up. She didn't mind, she came prepared like always, and already had a backup copy in her bag, just in case he forgot. He was the love of her life, there was no way she'd leave him hanging. If only he could see that.

It took all of Colin not to stomp his feet and shouted again. Him, dramatic? Really? He was not the guy who was chasing her, she threw himself at him. It wasn't like he asked for her to hang around him and became his cheerleader or whatever she was, he never did. Honestly, if anything he wanted her away from him. Most of the time she was disruptive, he couldn't even count how many games where he very nearly lost his concentration because of her. Some people found it amusing, but not his teammates - not usually. Still, whatever they did, she kept coming back like a puppy with her tail between her legs. He can't even tell what was wrong with her.
He just knew he was getting angrier every second she took spreading the damn marmalade on her toast. "I'm being dramatic?" he hissed, not sitting back down. The last thing he wanted to do was listen to her even if it could save his life. Okay, maybe he was a tad dramatic. But, any guy would as well when a psycho stalker wouldn't leave him alone. All he did was be nice to her the first few months when they were first acquainted, it wasn't wrong, he was nice to everyone. "You're here, throwing water at me and slapping me silly and I'm the one who's dramatic?" he managed to keep his voice in control though it was obvious to anyone with eyes he was severely irritated.
Charms homework? Really? She wanted to talk about Charms homework? Colin gritted his teeth, gathered his things and grabbed a couple of toast. There was no way he was sitting with her. No, that would just feed her delusions and he had no time for her brand of crazy.

Her face fell slightly as she watched Colin gather his things and turn to leave, she wanted to cry but would rather die than do that. Nope. She wasn't some weak punk ass bitch who got sympathy points from a guy just because of a little waterworks. She'd rather kill herself before giving into that impulse. Still, it didn't make her feel any less worse. Olive turned her back to him, returning to the table a little upset, Well fine. If he wants to go out on his own, so be it. See if I care. But she did. She really did. It wasn't until a few seconds had passed that she could not longer hold herself back. "UGHHHH" she grumbled angrily. Why was love so complicated???
Olive popped the toast into her mouth clutching it between her teeth as she grabbed her bag and hopped out of her seat, trailing not too far behind Colin. At first she kept her distance, adjusting the backpack so that it now hung on both shoulders before taking the piece of toast out of her mouth. Colin was so beautiful, even from behind. Olive studied his features, his broad shoulders that hunched slightly forward as if ever ready to catch a quaffle that might come hurling at him at any second. She sighed to herself. But it was so hard to tell him how she felt. You just keep doing what you're doing Olive. Support your man, be there for him. Soon he'll see. yeah. That's right.
Fully refreshed with confidence she quickened her step so that she was now in pace with him and cocked her head toward him,
"Yeahh you're right" she started sarcastically "marching off in a huffy storm tooooottally not dramatic at all." she smirked to show she was just joking and looked away
"Now about Charms..." she began casually...

Colin made a quick rundown of places he could hide from Olive as he walked away from her. Unfortunately, there weren’t many and he was willing to bet she knew all of them anyway. Olive, as far as he knew, was very resourceful. If only she was interested in putting all that dedication into something else – or someone else. He briefly considered to hex her for the nth time since she decided to take too much interest in his life. It would be satisfying, true, but it was not worth the detention, plus, he doesn’t hit girls. There was also another variable – he can’t be sure she would stop her so called obsession even if he was an asshole. Something told him it would just get worse if he tried down that route.
Of course, thinking he was free from her was fleeting. Olive was back leaning into his personal space and match his steps. He grunted in protest that a first year who just tried to get into the Great Hall squeaked and jump to one side to leave more than enough room for Colin to walk pass. He chose to ignore her comment as he kept walking, quickening his pace even more, even though he knew that it was useless. Olive was not someone easily deterred and he had learned that lesson the hard way.
“Not that it’s any of your business,” he huffed when Olive started about Charms again, “but I’ve finished all of my homework even if you’d like to believe I need you to help me with it.” Maybe what he said fell into the pool of the not so nice thing she had said to her, but he didn’t care. Olive was clearly delusional if she thought he couldn’t understand his own classes. He wasn’t exactly competing with any top ten students of his year, but he did pretty well for himself and he was proud of that. “Perhaps you can offer your help to someone else,” he said, shooting a look at a rather large student, a fellow Gryffindor who happened to be in their year. George, Gavin or something…

That's my man she shined with glee as he finally gave in to update her on all the essentials. Olive hardly noticed his attempt to sock it to her. She liked her men with a little spice and he was right to feel offended at her awful assumption that he hadn't finished his homework. Why of course he did. He was wonderful in every way. Not only was he incredibly talented at quidditch but he was the brightest most respected student in all of time! Olive clasped her hands to her chest and held back her tears of worship... those were for later, when she pined before her almighty shrine of Colin she had built in her trunk. Every night she prayed to the deity that no harm would come to Colin, that gryffindor would win the quidditch cup, and that Colin and she would one day be together.
She snapped out of her little world when she caught him suggesting she help someone else? SOMEONE ELSE? WHOOOO could possibly replace Colin in both excellency and talent? What a fucking dumb thing to suggest. He was so modest. He was too modest. my man... she pined inwardly, and then let out a loud gag.
"UGH. Why would I waste my time on other people?" she scoffed, and looked at him, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Not when I've got you in my life she thought mentally, staring deep into his soul, wondering if he could hear her. If they had developed such a connection mentally that he might be able to read her mind, or if her thoughts were so obvious he could read them through her eyes, not that he was looking at her. He must have had a lot on his mind...

It was too obvious how Olive was not even reading his obvious attempt to point out how she was practically unwanted in his life that he had to sigh. I don’t hit girls… I don’t hit girls… He chanted repeatedly in his head since he was very nearly sure he would make the exception for Olive. Well, perhaps he could try full body bind curse on her. Okay, maybe that wasn’t a good idea since everyone would know who did it and he would get into trouble anyway. He had gone through school so far without so much of a scratch on his record, and let’s face it, it was amazing considering he was a Gryffindor and ninety-nine percent of them are usually in detention at one point or another for various reasons. It was not to say he never lost any point from the house though, he wasn’t a Saint.
Definitely not a Saint.
Losing battle. Colin shook his head irritably when Olive, once again, missed his obvious attempt to redirect her interest onto someone else, someone who might not mind much that she would cling onto them. Her delusion was definitely getting worse as she seemed to be lost, looking up at him as if he had either grown two heads or have a halo over it. Well, he deserved the halo at this point anyway for tolerating her.
“Greene,” he said sternly, noticing how they were standing much too near to each other. “You’re way too close.” How she managed to distract him to do just that had both impressed and baffled him. Without another word, he took two steps behind. He can’t guarantee he wouldn’t strangle her if she kept finding her way within his reach.

“Greene”
Olive was now lost in those words. Whoever knew her name could sound so beautiful than when uttered by such a beautiful man. Yes??? she wondered, they were so close now that she could smell his scent. A nice musky yet sweet smell she discovered was not cologne but his natural body odor. Rarely had she had the opportunity to be so close, it was as if she were practically in his arms. She closed her eyes unconsciously, expecting at any moment that he might sweep her off her feet and plant a tender yet loving kiss upon her lips.
"Oh Colin..... OH colin...... Oh" she uttered just slightly above a whisper, unaware that she could be heard.
“You’re way too close.” he replied.
Olive's eyes opened, her cheeks reddening slightly "Oh"
well that was awkward...
She shuffled uncomfortably for a moment, this time a little grateful at his decision to move back a few steps, she didn't want him to see how flushed her face had gotten or the sweat beads now forming on the tops of her forehead. She kept her head down and focused on her feet now. C'mon Olive, quit being such a fucking girl. Stop making this more awkward than it is... SAY SOMETHING.... but what? ANYTHING!
"Do you like ... cheese?"

Well, there was a brand of torture one can never understand unless they experience it. In all honesty, if it had happened to anyone else, Colin would've most likely shook his head and didn't think twice of the whole situation. But, seeing that it was him that got caught in the madness, he wondered how he had managed to retain his sanity this long. Then again, it wasn't just his sanity that was in question, it was also his patience since most of his friends had either applaud him for not murdering Greene while the others had volunteered to do just that.
Cheese?
It took all of Colin not to loose his shit in the middle of a corridor. He pressed his eyes shut, taking a deep breath before opening them again, at the same time wishing she would disappear from his sight the moment he opened his eyes.
No such luck.
"What do you want, Greene?" he asked irritably. "I'm late for practice and as much as I want to stay and humour your obsession of me, I really don't want to," he said sarcastically. The last place he wanted to be was anywhere near her. There was too much insanity in her for his temper to handle. "Get help, pretty sure St. Mungo's offer some kind of therapy. If not, visit a Muggle practitioner, you clearly need one."

"Ha- ha" she laughed humorlessly at Colin's snippy tone about this and that and blah! She nearly knocked him on the head for his comment about humoring her obsession had it not been true. YEAH she loved him, and YEAH he knew, but part of her had always imagined he kind of didn't really know, because if he really did know there was no way he could deny that sort of love and brush it off like she was nothing. She was completely committed to the relationship no matter the kind of hardship she encountered.
"Very funny" she added, still not amused, her eyes glowered at him testily. He really was being a smart ass right now. But he was so cute when he was cold. She felt weak at the knees just glaring at him, her eyes softened slightly at the notice of how tired he looked. No wonder he was being such a butt head this morning. My baby didn't get enough sleep! Olive forgave him mentally for being such a jerk and continued on with the conversation as if nothing had ever happened.
Olive gaped loudly, completely dumbstruck as to why he couldn't realize what she was there for "PRACTICE, DUH. Where else would I be?" she asked rhetorically "I'm the co-captain. How could I not be there for practice? What kind of co-captain would that make me?!" she shouted somewhat aggressively, throwing her hands into the air. She had never really been given the official title but she always referred to herself as such because she went to every practice and was there to help with picking up the balls, reffing and washing the teams uniforms.

Well, of course all logic would flew passed Olive’s head. Colin didn’t even know why he should expected something more from the one-track minded girl. He groaned, getting even more irritated. Co-captain? He had to laugh, she was nothing more than a joke to most, though most of the team members usually felt sorry for her. Yet, it didn’t mean that they (saved him who had desperately tried to get away from her) wouldn’t take advantage of her. After all, it would only take one word from the Captain to ban her from practice and the changing rooms and he hadn’t even so much of squeak a word. Obviously, their captain enjoyed not having to wash his own uniform.
“For the last time, Greene,” he said exasperatedly. “You’re not our co-captain!” He had just about enough, someone had to put a stop to Olive or at least make her realize that the team was using her. He wondered if she even realized she was a joke to them. Why her friends didn’t pointed that very fact out to her baffled him. Did she even have any friends? Colin can’t be sure, he never took interest in her, and so knowing her circle of friends was never a priority.
