Tobias was the type of kid who, while he made sure to study and get his work done, couldn’t be seen doing it. As such he was reading his potions textbook behind a Quidditch magazine, lazing on one of the very comfortable couches. He’d opened the magazine to an article he’d already read and could discuss if someone asked. He really had perfected the art of working while not looking like it. Back at Durmstrang, the other more studious kids couldn’t believe he scored better or as well as them on tests. He made sure to paid attention in class as not to get in trouble with the uptight professors. Most of which were older, severe men and women of proven talent in their given field. Hogwarts was much more interesting with it’s young professors.
Tobias watched over his potions book and behind his magazine as students moved in and out of the common room. From what he could tell the only one who was staying for any length of time was a blonde girl sitting in the opposite corner at her own table. She was pretty, the type of girl who should have guys staring at her from all over the place, or a gaggle of girls surrounding her giggling at something she said. But no one was. From what he could tell they all just passed her by, well maybe some of them were stealing looks but none of them were being obvious about it.
Slipping his potion book into his bag with the magazine he walking over to her table. He flipped one of the chairs around, and sat down in it, leaning forward on the chair back with his head resting on his crossed arms.“What cha doing?” he asked smiling, “My name’s Tobias, by the way. I’m a transfer from Durmstrang."

outfitShe was okay at her classes but that was because she did a lot of studying and she kept to herself. Only when she actually realized that he was talking to her did she look up. Starting a conversation was always hard for her but somehow she always managed to work her way through it. "Trying to study, but I am sure I will give it a small rest soon," she said as she heard him finish. "Patricia," she added. Wow a student who had transferred in. She wondered why. Not that the school here was not great but it was in it's own way a little strange but then again wasn't everyone and everything? "Was I humming too loudly or something that disturbed you?"
