Cadence had been very quiet around the school and it was not for one reason or another, that just happened to be how it was. None the less this time he had actually managed to pull himself out and go to Hogsmeade. Luckily for him today it was not as packed as it normally was. He walked in and took a seat. It was not long before his head began to fall down on the table. It was an even shorter time before he fell asleep, which was bad. None the less maybe someone would come along and wake him up or maybe they would leave him there and let Cadence get some rest because god knows he needed it.

Tobias was bored and annoyed. Kai was nowhere to be found, and while looking for him throughout the castle, he’d run into gryffindor’s quidditch captain. Liz had given him an earful for missing their last practice session. He’d known that it was coming and been trying to avoid her. Unfortunately, that hadn’t worked so well when he was running everywhere looking for his boyfriend, who was the reason he’d missed practice in the first place. Honestly, he didn’t know why she was so mad. He’d spent the time playing with balls, the same as her. He’d earned a death glare when he’d told her that. Regardless, he was out now. Having decided to check Hogsmeade for his boyfriend. He’d doubted that Kai would have left without him. Unless, he’d run into Strangeways or that Mophead, then he might have. The thought of them, especially of them hanging out with Kai, alone, with no one to remind them Kai was his, made him want to hex something. Preferably one of them. As he entered what looked like a tavern, he noticed a fairly cute guy taking a nap all on his own. Not the smartest idea. Maybe it was just the Durmstrang in him, but sleeping in a tavern by yourself seemed very, very dumb. Noticing him as a Gryffindor in his year, he decided he’d might as well make sure the guy didn’t get robbed or hexed. Grabbing two butterbeer, he left one on the table next to the guy as he sorted through his notes. He’d finished nearly all of his homework before now. The only thing he had left was an essay due three weeks from now, and he’d already written an outline for it. Instead he was working on a project of his own, though unlike Durmstrang, Hogwarts offered much less testing for his spells. Well, he was a Class A, maybe he’d just find someone to practice on, and hope the school nurse was up to the task of reversing whatever hexes and curses he’d been working to create. In addition the Forbidden Forest would be a great place to work on that improved version of the blasting curse. He was pretty sure it could take out an entire town if cast properly. As he worked on his notes, reading a number of books he’d gotten on the dark arts out of the restricted section, he nearly forgot he’d sat down with someone else until the dude woke up.“I’m Tobias,” he said while making not of a particularly nasty hex, "the butterbeer over there is for you. And no, I didn’t put anything in it, no one else did either. Speaking of which, why take a nap in the middle of a tavern? Hogwarts beds too soft for you?”

Cadence slightly looked up. The obvious answer was..well the truth was that there was no obvious answer. Perhaps it was more comfortable, perhaps it was because when he fell asleep somewhere else he did not have to worry about other students, truthfully the world would never know.
Strife: Nice to meet you Tobias and thanks,
He said as he finally managed to put his head up.
Strife: Cadence.
Tobias. That was an interesting name. He thought he had heard Patricia mention it a time or two.
Strife: I think you know my friend Pat. None the less nice to meet you,
he said as he looked at the butterbeer.
Strife: Thanks for the drink as well.

“Not a problem,” he said, as he continued his notes, “and yeah, Pat’s great.”He smiled at that. Pat was rather quiet, and by rather he meant very. Though she was much better than he at potions. He’d go to her for homework help on their essays and they sat together during class as well. Potions wasn’t his best subject, but she was a natural at it, or just worked so hard that she seemed like one. Her helping him was strictly confidential however. If anyone asked, he was simply that good at everything. “You didn’t answer my question though,” he said, “I mean the Hog’s Head isn’t the safest place to begin with. Sure you’re not lost?”He let out a chuckle at that. Cadence seemed pretty straight laced, but he knew appearances could be deceiving. He used that to his advantage. The smart looking, well dressed aryan kid with good grades couldn’t possibly have done that much damage to kids know for dueling well. It worked well for him to start with at least. But after he got a reputation for his temper and adept use of curses even the most innocent appearance in the world didn’t stop him getting in trouble. But honestly, he loved the attention even if it was negative. His comment to Cadence about safety had made him realize how little stock he’d taken of his surroundings after entering the inn. A few pale men seemed to be huddled together in the corner, their black eyes watching the other guests, most likely vampires. A few other wizards seemed to be doing business in the corner, but their hushed voices are furtive looks showed they weren’t to be disturbed. The tavern keeper was cleaning the dirty glasses with the dirtiest rag he’d seen. Really, he was probably just making them dirtier at this point. The man knew Tobias rather well by now, after breaking up the duel that almost occurred when Tobias had first come here.
One of the wizards staying there had marked Tobias as an easy target and tried to rob him. Tobias had hexed the man the second he noticed the hand moving towards his pocket. The man, yelling in pain from the boils appearing all over his body, moved to draw his wand when the man behind the bar spoke up. After saying something about not wanting bloody Aurors showing up the man seemed to calm, the boils were still bright red however. Tobias kept coming back and no one bothered him after that. Especially considering the boils on the man who tried to rob him took over a week to even begin fading. “I mean,” he said turning back to Cadence, “you seem the type who'd be better off at the Three Broomsticks."
