"AM TOO" she replied, this time a little more aggressively, stomping her feet as she said so. NOT go captain? Was he joking? Did she NOT attend every practice match and arrive before every game to join the pep rallys and pass out drinks? Did she NOT fill in during practice matches when a teammate couldn't come due to a cold or detention or some other reason? Was she NOT incredibly involved in every aspect of game play that the captain had allowed her to keep a close eye on Colin their star player? ...Okay the last part she maaaay have been exaggerating a bit, but still. The point was she was the freakin co-captain and there was no doubt about that.
If she wasn't someone like I dunno.. the captain might have said something about it. Which they didn't. Because she was the co-captain, simple as that.
"I'm ALWAYS there. And always will be because thats my job!" she added snarkily. "I don't get why you have to get like this all the time when nobody else is." she puckered her lips out, feeling a bit bitter. She remembered the days when she had first met colin and they had flying class together and would practice quidditch even if they weren't on the team yet. They wanted to be on the team so bad. It was in those days Olive realized Colins potential, his worth. She couldn't deny that her love for him sparked in those cool fall days out on the field.. alone.. the two of them together.
She looked down at her feet for a moment and then shot her eyes up, this time with a fire like no other and she added threateningly.
"You know, I didn't want to be the one to say this but your last couple matches have been total crap, your game play horrendous. It's because of you that we lost the cup" she poked him hard in the chest as she emphasized you. She felt horrible, saying all those things but it was like she had no control over her mouth. Like some awful form of mouth diahrrea, and everything was just coming out more and more vile as her mouth kept moving.
"Why do you think I got assigned to watching your ass? Because I love you?" she remarked with a laugh "Get real." If only Olive could find herself getting real.. but this all felt unreal to her. This was all coming out from a very hurt mean awful girl deep down inside, and poor Colin had to hear it. She almost cried, but her anger refused to allow her that.

“You were always there because you’re far too easy to manipulate!” Colin shouted back. It was maybe not the best way to break the news the team had been using her, but he had to draw the line somewhere. Someone had to snap Greene out of her delusion and make her see she was nothing to the team. In fact, she was less than that. His attempt to make them stop making her run their errand for the past years never worked because they had simply taken it as a joke. He was many things, sure, but Colin knew exactly who he was and he was not the kind of guy that would take an advantage of someone in any form.
“Are you really that thick, Greene?” he asked, “did you think they let you stick around because they’re fond of you? Or that you're a spectacular player?” he had to lay it out for her. If she kept doing what she did, she would never amount to anything. He had nothing against her being nice to people, he had appreciated her attention for her from time to time, though he believed she should have her own life. Well, that and he always thought they’d only ever be friends and Olive never seemed to get the message. “Let me spell this to you, they are USING you,” he spat, emphasizing the word in hope it’ll get through her thick skull.
Of course, he had expected her denial too. As well as her taking a jab at his game. “Well, if you remember that, you should remember I had to take myself out of the game the last two games because I had to drag you out for disrupting the game,” he said in a matter-of-fact tone. “You threw oranges at the opposing team!” he added harshly. It was a tad funny, he had to admit it took a while for him to stop laughing when he saw the reaction on the opposing team’s face. Only Olive could get that sort of reaction out of anyone. Her and her crazy antiques.
“And for the last time,” he said, sighing. “No one assigned you to me. YOU assigned yourself to me for no reason at all!”

"LALALALALALALA" she covered her ears and sang loudly to drive out the words he was saying, it was like those automatic responses to hearing the things you really don't want to hear in life. She knew she looked and sounded ridiculous but she hated what Colin was saying. It hurt her so much, not because it was true. It wasn't, but that he actually believed them. How could her love look down on her so much she wasn't sure. All she ever did was look up and idolize him. He was perfect in every way but to him she was imperfect, a nobody, a loser.
When he brought up the last few games she pouted, now pulling the hands from her ears she replied "Well YEAH, because Grifford and Bales were being complete and total shitheads!" she gripped, recalling how much stress that game left her with. Grifford and Bales were the opposing teams Beaters and they had decided, rather coyly to set their sights and crippling the star keeper-- Colin so that the team wouldn't have him during the playoffs. It angered her so much she couldn't control herself took to booing, shouting, and later, throwing whatever she could grab. Which just turned out to be oranges.. lots and lots of oranges.
She had always loved the position of Chaser and so she had a pretty good throw. She grinned to herself, remembering as she wrecked havoc and revenge on them even after the game was over...
"well" she muttered, a little sourly, now looking at her feet "it's not like I was wrong.." she pouted "They had it coming for them."

Just because Colin had expected Olive to be in denial, it didn’t mean he wasn’t annoyed. He sighed, for the nth time in the span of under an hour. Olive certainly had that effect on him and it was definitely not good for his health. “Fine,” he said sharply, “be that way.” He might have sounded like a petulant child, irritated when Olive was not listening to him, though it didn’t mean that he was wrong. Maybe one day Olive will see her value or lack there was to the team. They didn’t care for her and even though he was not a huge fan of her swooning for him, he never liked it when people decided it was good to take advantage on another person.
“And they were the Beaters,” he said exasperatedly. “It was their job to aim bludgers at me for the purpose of knocking me off my broom.” He couldn’t believe he had to explain Quidditch rules to Olive. Grifford and Bales did nothing more than stated in the playbook or anything that was against the rules. They were good players and he daresay, he respected them quite a bit. Olive might not understand sportsman attitude, but he did and he was one of those who kept what happened in the game in the game. There were no bad blood between him, Grifford and Bales, though he knew for a fact they (and a number of Quidditch players of the opposing teams) was not a huge fan of Olive.
“Honestly,” he sighed. “If you can’t even understand that, why do you even bother coming to the games?”

FOR YOUU DUH. She pined in her head. Why was he so thick??? Olive bit down on her lip to avoid any more outbursts, she was starting to look like a loon after all.
"I wonder if they'll let me play at practice" she added rather thoughtfully trying to change the subject. Olive loved the moments in practice where she could play around with Colin, just the two of them... sort of. If you could ignore the other 6 players on the team, which she could and did a rather good job at. Even as they screamed for her to pass the quaffle or told her practice was up.
"I noticed you've got a bit of a blind spot to the left, I could help you work them out easily though" she added rather sure of herself.
Olive wasn't on the team but that didn't mean she was a crappy player. She would never give up the opportunity to watch Colin during matches and so she just never wanted to play. A few times it might have frustrated the team, especially last term when they were in need of a new chaser and actually asked her despite how much of a hazard they knew she was. Olive politely refused but agreed to keep on as Co-captain, and maybe sub if they really had no one because then they wouldn't be able to play at all.

As always, common sense flew over Olive’s head and all Colin could do was go with it. There was nothing else he could say at that point and he doubted anything would even change if he tried. Olive was…Olive. The bane of his existence that he can’t seemed to shake no matter how hard he tried. He supposed, he was at an impasse and though he rather not accepted his fate, for today, he would have to. So, he shrugged yet again, fixed the strap of his bag back squarely onto his shoulder.
“Maybe, Lincoln is out sick,” he answered her absentmindedly. If Olive actually stopped ogling him during practice, she could actually be a decent player. Unfortunately for him (and her) she decided to waste all her efforts on him. He, unlike many, would see things as they were and would give credit when credit was due. Just not to Olive, not when he can never be sure how she would interpret his compliments and that was one mess he would not want to deal with ever. “Well, technically he got hexed by his girlfriend for cheating,” he doubled back, chuckling to himself. It was one of those stories that no one was supposed to know but everyone knew anyway, he didn’t see the harm in telling Olive. After all, she might have already heard of it.
“No, that’s fine. I’ve arranged a practice with Layla,” he refused Olive’s suggestion all too quickly. Though, it was true how he had arranged to practice with the chaser. She was one of the best the school had ever seen and unlike Olive, was focused on her game and not him. That was a bonus point for Colin seeing his aim for practice was to better himself. “Said she needed the practice herself,” he added. Layla was definitely hard-core even among the male players. At sixteen she had already gained interest from professional Quidditch teams and Colin can’t say he was getting the same love from them which was why Layla was a perfect practice partner.

"yeah I heard! What a DOUCHE" she laughed. She had seen that coming for a long time, him getting caught. He was so cocky and full of himself, but so bad at hiding things. Olive was good at hiding things. Lincoln, not so much. She always wondered how his girlfriend didn't figure it out sooner, maybe she knew but was waiting for the right moment. Catch him at his worst and then make him suffer. And what better way than hexing him in the act of snogging that girl, attaching them at the lips so they had no choice but to take their shame with them all the way down to the hospital wing.
Olive giggled slightly,
"Bet he wont be cheating for a while. I don't know anyone who missed that humiliating display" She liked these moments. These moments she had with Colin, where they were just like this. Cool. Like friends. With none of that nastiness he had before with the ignoring her or yelling. Being with Colin just felt... right. But then he had to ruin that moment, as always and Olive just about stopped herself from punching him in the face.
LAYLA? HER? REALLY? Olive gritted her teeth at the mention of her nemesis. Truthfully she had only just become her nemesis but it felt like a long standing hatred spanning from the moment she met her until present time. Layla.. she repeated in her head more viciously. Olive saw it as it was. Pretending she needed 'practice' to get some one on one alone time with Colin, such an innocent suggestion that seeped with ulterior motive to steal her man. Olive clutched the strap of her bag tightly as her eyes went red.... with violence... and a hunger for vengeance.... BITCH WAS GONNA DIE
"Oh.. you know what? I've got something to do.." she stated rather matter o'fact. "I'll catch you later then yeh?" Though her mind was already planning.. plotting... She knew where Layla slept.
"So uh.. Bye" she waved rather curtly, avoiding Colin's eyes as if she were afraid she might give herself away and then scurried down the hall.

Sometimes, Olive can be the easiest person to talk to that Colin forgot how crazy she was. However, he could always count on her reminding him that he should never be anywhere near her, in fact, he should always keep a distance of two Quidditch pitches between the two of them. One moment they were talking about Lincoln and his incapability to remain monogamous and the next – his fault really, he could have almost sworn he saw her plotting Layla’s demise in her head. Uh-oh didn’t even quite cover what he felt like in that moment. It was never good to forget Olive and her obsession could run so deep that she couldn’t understand the difference between friendship and romantic interest. Then again, she didn’t even understand how she was a glorified go-fer.
He tried to rectify the situation, but taking back what he had just said was proven impossible when Olive was quicker than him. All he could do was open and close his mouth stupidly as she babbled away, scurrying, making her way down the corridor before he could even say a word to stop her.
“Crap…” he cursed to himself.
Well…he supposed he should warn Layla of her impending doom. So, he started quickly towards the pitch where he knew he’d find her. A heads up would be good for the Chaser, they can’t really afford to have two players down. And if he was honest, he really hate the idea of being responsible of Layla’s predicament because he had no filter to speak of.
