Ophelia once again found herself sitting in the tavern of her favourite bar, drinking her favourite drink. Sure she felt like she should be finally celebrating, the auror was finally given a task of her own. She had studied all the great aurors of years past. Had read everything written on the dark arts, and learned from some of the best. She had been on teams who brought down high-profile deatheaters. And now when she was finally given her own assignment, she felt the need to think about this on her own. She wasn't sure if she felt overwhelmed by the file she had to study and track down, or if it was such a petty crime barely worth checking into. Sure it was the first one she had had on her own. Sure she could tackle this on her own. But do they only think she can handle these minor crimes?
She Looked at the large glass of firewhiskey in front of her and took a big drink. She looked around the bar as the effects of the alcohol began to make her feel kinda fuzzy. She took another drink and started half-heartedly flipped through her first assigned solo file. It was times like these that a friend would be nice to talk to. Even the bartender seemed to busy at the moment to earn his tip by listening to her bitch. She glanced around for an available drinking buddy after she finished her glass. "How about a refill?" she shouted at the bartender.

"Here too." Nyle said, adding his glass next to hers, slamming it down right on top of her case file actually. It would probably leave a liquid ring on the manila folder. Too bad he didn't actually look at the file. He would have found it incredibly interesting, but all he had eyes for was his alcohol and the attractive women in the establishment. He was here to celebrate, reward himself for a job well done. He'd successfully smuggled an entire shipment of dragon dust out of the country right under the ministry's nose. Ophelia, as it turned out was by far the best looking prospect in the pub and so he situated himself near her and endeavored to get her attention.
"Well, hey there." he said, pretending he'd only just noticed her. This technique had worked for him in the past, but he'd already had several drinks and perhaps his acting wasn't as convincing as when he was sober.

Had she not already finished one glass of Firewhiskey Ophelia would have had something to say about the fact he completely disregarded her property, but the alcohol was taking effect and she was glad for the company. "Well hello there..." she trailed off. She picked up both glasses and handed them to the bartender, and while he was refilling them, she slipped the file quickly into her satchel. She had worked enough for the night, she was ready for some fun.
Perhaps if she had not emptied her glass so quickly she would have been more on alert about the gentlemen schmoozing her right now, but she was glad for the company and the distraction, and let's face it, it had been a long time since she was with such a good looking man.
The bartender returned with their firewhiskey, and she took hers and took a large sip. "So what's your story? Why is a good looking guy like you alone here in a bar?"

"Well, I'm not alone, Sugar, I'm with you." he said, holding up his refilled glass in a toasting gesture to her. It was a terrible line, it was true. Maybe he was more intoxicated than he thought he was. "Actually," Nyle took a drink, "I'm celebrating tonight. Success at work. Big deal went through." He smiled, feeling self-satisfied. "If we're tellin' stories, I want to hear the one where I find out you don't have a boyfriend."

This was going to be a good night, she thought. Maybe she can take him home, have some fun, relieve some stress, and be ready to tackle this case fresh in the morning. "If there were a man in my life, I would expect him to be here with me, I have my own celebrating, in a sense. So I guess we just celebrate together." For a small witch, she could hold her liquor, she took another gulp and was ready for another refill.
"Another one please, you better finish that quick so we can toast with the next glass." She found herself scooting closer to this man, and as she reached to touch his hand she paused. "I don't think I caught your name..."

Nyle grinned. This girl was exactly what he'd been hoping for. "Neal, Neal Spartan." he told her. It wasn't his real name of course, but it was close enough that he answered to it readily without much thought. It was the usual alias he gave out to women he met in bars and invariably had one-night-stands with and not one that he'd ever used for ... work, meaning it wouldn't be found on any police reports.
"And who might you be?" Not that it mattered what her name was. He would just call her 'Sugar' or 'Sweetheart' or whatever came to mind. He wouldn't remember her name past the next ten minutes, but names seemed to matter to most women, and even if they didn't, in Nyle's experience, they still felt the need to pretend they did.

"well Neal, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Ophelia." She paused briefly expecting the usual jokes about how tragic her name is, or what was so tragic her folks named her that. But she decided she didn't want to hear any of that. First of all she was drunk, and a little more chatty, and second she was ina good mood and didn't want to be brought down by pathetic jokes. So she continued her conversation not waiting for a response to her name. "SO what do you do, if I might ask? "

"Ophelia." he repeated, flashing his signature dimpled smile at her. Actually, he might just remember that name, he'd never shag... er, met an Ophelia before.
Nyle took a drink to cover the slight pause he took to think about her question. He'd mentioned his 'big deal' going through flippantly and hadn't really expected her to follow up on it. "I work in the potion supply business." he said smoothly before he even set his glass back down. After all, lying was what he did for a living, he was good at it, and this was only twisting the truth. His current 'deal' had very much to do with potions.
"I'm stayin' with my sister while I'm in town. She works real late. She won't notice if I, uh, don't come home right away." He suggested.
