"Pass..." he uttered in complete and total disbelief. He didn't hear that quite right, he couldn't have. How could his imagination deny his request. This was just a matter of control and he was losing control of all that. This imaginary Anna... was she a test of his dream too?
"PASS?!!?!" he exclaimed loudly, repeating the word rather frantically, the toad currently in his hand seemed to bulge from the pressure he was applying at Annabelle's refusal to partake. He dropped the frog without so much as a glance, his eyes were still on Annabelle as he walked straight toward her, a slow and steady saunter. His eyes never wavered and why would they? She was his imagination and needed to be put into her place, she needed to know that he was the master of this dream verse... the master he smiled to himself at that thought, and stopped just before her.
"The key is in the frogs....." he uttered, and with an outstretched hand, grabbed annabelle's and placed the frog in the other. "the answer..... is in the cross" still holding her hand that now had the toad in it flat on its back, he took his other hand and traced a finger across the underbelly so that it made a cross, but his eyes were still on Annabelle's as he traced, over..... and over...... and over..... Each time he traced his finger over deeper and deeper so that his nail was now scratching over the surface until a marking appeared.
"where. is. the. key" he uttered rather lifelessly.

Praying seemed like a good idea, if only Annabelle could even remember to do that. She scrambled away, trying to put a distance between her and Dale, but he was quicker and caught her before she could flee to safety. Fuller didn’t seemed to care or even interested on what was happening, picking on his nose and then intently studying what he had dug out of it. He was definitely one of those boys that never grew up. She wanted to cry, scream, though words were stuck in her throat as Dale placed a frog, belly side up onto her palm. She blinked with horrified look apparent in her eyes that anyone with sound mind would recognize.
She felt even more helpless as she watched Dale traced his finger repeatedly on the frog. The tiny creature flailed, trying to free itself to no avail and failed every single time. Just like her…
“Stop,” she squeaked, forcefully pulling her hand and the frog away from Dale’s madness. The creature appeared to be close to death and didn’t even hop away when she placed it on the nearest empty seat. Still, she was sure it was still alive from the little twitches it made. She pity the creature and fear for herself.
“You’re crazy,” she said, at last. Slowly at first and repeated it again, a little louder, “you’re absolutely crazy!”

Dale didn't notice the frogs state of mind, he also didn't notice how Annabelle had walked back so much until she had no where left to escape, leaving her essentially pinned against his will. He noticed none of that because his dead lifeless crazy eyes looked nowhere but inside her eyes. Her brown eyes full of nothing but fear, and a mix of defiance. obey me..... obey me..... He desperately struggled to control this part of his imagination. He wanted it, he needed it if he wanted to survive.
Survive....
"Stop" he heard her shout
Blink.
“You’re crazy,” she said, at last. Slowly at first and repeated it again, a little louder, “you’re absolutely crazy!”
Dale, still devoid of everything but thought, continued staring at her letting the comment sink in. But it was hard to accept. Crazy? CRAZY DO I LOOK CRAZY? He said... or thought he said, now he was only semiconscious of when he was speaking and when he was not. No. He wasn't crazy. He was dreaming. Yes, this dream was a bit crazy but that wasn't him... no.. it wasn't. He twitched slightly, his fingers moving rhythmically at his sides, as if trying to grasp for something, his sanity perhaps?
"WHAT" he shouted so suddenly and frightfully it even startled himself.
"I'm NOT crazy. This IS a dream. YOU are MINE" he growled, each word pausing with such a violent ..not crazy.. not crazy...not crazy

Annabelle was never the type of girl that would cry all too quickly. She never believed tears should fall unless it was necessary, like for a funeral or to mourn a friend, or something. But, she couldn’t help it as she sobbed when Roberts started to shout. It was the most surreal experience she ever had at Hogwarts and that was saying something for a school with moving staircases, a forbidden forest and a giant squid inside its lake. Everything, in comparison to how Roberts was acting seemed all too normal for her now. His insistence of possession of her person was terrifying just as much as how he still believe it was all a dream.
He was crazy, far too crazy to recognize his madness. Then again, no one of sound mind would notice how far their sanity have left them behind. She whimpered, trying to get away with her back still pressed against the wall firmly. All she could think about was to run, but her feet felt heavy. There had to be a better way, could she reasoned with him?
“Roberts,” she said with a sob. “This is not a dream, you’re really awake,” she added, not knowing where her words could lead her. If she could manage to shake Roberts back to reality, great. If not, well, at least she tried.

Annabelle;s efforts to reason with him were futile, almost laughable at this point because he was so far gone he was no longer listening. His mind drifted, eyes drifted. He could see it now as if it were plain as day. The faint markings that vaguely resembled a cross down her torso, and crossing just at the midsection. The frogs weren't the key... she is .
A light bulb went off in his head.
Dale outstretched his hand, pressing the palm of his hand partially against the wall and partially over her shoulder, applying just enough pressure to lock her in her place. Nothing to painful, just enough to keep her in control, and with his other hand he retrieved his wand. He lifted it slowly and thoughtfully as he drawled.
"No Anna..." he started, his hand just staring at the wand thoughtfully as if gathering his thoughts, he seemed lost, in another world "not yet.." he continued slowly before finally returning his gaze at her. "we're not awake yet". Without hesitation he added with a sharp throb of his Wand and a blinding flash of light,
"Petrificus Totalus!"

At some point during her struggle, Annabelle shirt had ridden up and a portion of her skin was exposed, revealing the birthmark she had on her torso. Her eyes bulged, noticing Robert’s interest in the marking and started to fear for her life even more when he locked her into place. “What are you doing?” she asked, panic was clear in her voice as she struggled to break free from his grip. Her attempts were useless as he was stronger than her and she only managed to collect a scratch from where her skin met the wall behind her. “Oww!” she yelped, flailing about.
“Let me go, Roberts!” she demanded when she saw him raised his wand at her. Her heart skipped a beat, she knew she was going to die. Fortunately, she refused to go down without a fight, she tried to claw at Roberts, “I’m awake you dumbass!” she screamed and suddenly, she was locked into place. She even barely heard it too, the curse. Full body-bind charm. The bastard was going to make her suffer and she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

Dale stumbled backwards at her sudden attack, her nails scratched across his left cheek toward his ear and left deep red throbbing impressions. A few droplets of blood dripped down from his cheek, but none of that phased him because she was now for the meanwhile, out for the count. Her body completely and totally immobilized, locked into the position she had been just seconds ago, her arm outstretched and face contorted with rage. It was unfortunate for Annabelle that he had chosen this spell because although her body remained immobile and frozen, her brain unfortunately was quite livid and actively aware of everything about to happen.
He brushed the blood off his cheek mindlessly and carefully pulled Annabelle to the floor mumbling nonsensically under his breath "of course you're awake, dissection doesn't work if you're asleep.. I need you awake to find the key.. the way out .. key.. gotta get the key" he rambled on and on as he pushed her shirt up slightly to reveal the mark, and traced it with a finger.
The key...
almost out he felt like crying with joy. Just need the key s'all. And with that in mind he reached his wand over her carefully, he traced his wand over the marking once very lightly and then "Diffindo.." he muttered rather grimly, swiping as he uttered, he almost didn't hear the door open behind him.

It was currently 9:20pm.
Where was Murphy?
Where had he gone?
To be honest, not long after he had left the students to their detention he had forgotten them almost instantly. He left to his office and enjoyed some of his favorite late night soap operas, as he ate day old chinese food he had ordered the day before at his favorite hole in the wall chinese restaurant in downtown London. Murphy probably wouldn't have returned at all if it weren't for one of those annoying insolent fools that called themselves 'head of house' that came into the room to ask about one of the students that he remembered that he was still holding them.
Bloody pestering brats...
He grumbled as he slurped up the lomein and kicked his way inside the dungeons. A few toads hopped past him croaking happily, and inside there was a boy in a corner screaming and a girl on the floor and a guy on top.
Well...... That didn't look right.
Murphy gulped, swallowing down the rest of his mouthful and shouted order.
"Ruffalo what the bloody hell are you doing?" He dropped his take out container into the trash beside the door and pulled off the buggy little bastard, and looked down at the defiant girl. Now he remembered..... sort of.
What he remembered were bits and pieces. Like this girl here being a snarky arsehole, and something about names.. but the rest escaped him. Still looking down at her lifeless body he could think nothing but one thing.
serves her right
But murphy was an adult, and there was something about the eery way her eyes moved but her body didn't and then it clicked. She had been hexed. weakness... he scowled slightly and waved his wand over her, reversing the spell but not bothering with much else, like patching up the small slit that traced down her abdomen, he turned away from her, pocketing his wand.
"you're all dismissed. I think you've learned your lesson." he pocked his wand "Don't be so... er.. You know. Whatever you did to end up here. Or next time..." he added menacingly "it'll be worse. GOT IT? Now get the hell out before I lock you back in here for the next eternity"

It was the end and there was nothing Annabelle could do about it. Memories flooded her mind, she remembered how excited she was when she first got her letter to Hogwarts. Now, they are going to be returning her to her parents in a casket. She wondered what her mother would feel like and what he father would do. They would be devastated. If only she had been quicker or aware of what was happening around her. Why had she not noticed how crazy Roberts were? Maybe Percy was right, she was too trusting, always too straight-edge for all the insanity in the world.
She wanted to close her eyes, but the spell had rendered her immobilized and she couldn’t even close her eyes as she faced her death. Her death, all she could do was accepted her fate when she heard Roberts faint incantation.
But, another voice soon followed.
Of course she was to be saved at the nick of time. She wasn’t sure whether she was relieved to see the Headmaster’s face or not, but sure as hell was glad to be freed for the invisible bind. She threw Roberts a look, and if looks could kill, the boy would have surely been dead with the mere intensity. He was mad, true. Yet, he wasn’t the one she was angry with, not entirely. She barely gaze at the Headmaster, hatred boiled within her. He was an adult that should be with a better sense of right and wrong.
Worse than what she had to deal with? Ha! Nothing could be worse than being stuck with a lunatic and seeing that lunatic got away with just a warning. Still, she had learned her lesson. The Headmaster was not one who liked opinion and she doubted whatever she said would make much a difference in how he perceived things. In fact, she could very well get sentenced to another detention.
So, she shrugged, briskly collecting her things without another word.

So it worked... he was out... he was... free.
Tears reached his eyes as he clutched himself, hugging himself as he rocked.
I'm awake.. i'm awake... i'm---
Dale heard the Headmaster dismiss them and threaten to lock them in there if they didn't leave. With a gulp he shot up and walked swiftly out the door, followed by the Filters from the corner who kept looking at him frightfully, he twitched as he passed him though Dale couldn't figure out why. He had been asleep that whole time waiting for the headmaster to arrive.. right?
It had to be.

Annabelle was the last of the students to leave. She tried her hardest not to give the Headmaster a look of defiance as she walked passed him. There was no lesson learned, just further confusion as to why the Headmaster was trying to accomplish. It felt wrong to punish someone for doing something right and he trying to coerce her into compliance was unforgivable in her mind. She couldn’t bear to be near the madness for another minute. So, she gave him a simple quick nod without looking up and ran out of the room.
She could always find comfort back at her own dorm. Perhaps the house elves would leave her a treat or two if she asked them nicely. She considered writing to her parents, but decided against it just as soon as the thought crossed her mind. There was no reason to worry her mum and dad for something even they had no control over. It would probably make it worse for her instead and she would rather just go back to being invisible.
