Kensi was late. She had specifically told herself that they would leave at noon. It was enough time to eat and get out to where they needed to be and return before the darkness fell. Well anyone worth anything knows what they say about the best laid plans. Currently it was three p.m. which while it was not to late was a little later than Kensi would have felt comfortable with making her exit. None the less she had put too much into this not to attempt it. If it fell through that was one thing but Kensi at least needed to try it. Patiently playing with the strings on her backpack, she shieled her eyes from the cold and waited to see if Batty would still show up. She hoped so but she could and was not going to make any promises. Batty Riggs

"Kensington" Batty acknowledged the young hufflepuff as polite as she could, adding a slight nod to her utterance for good measure. But there was nothing pleasant or polite about the way she eyed the girl. Her normally large eyes lay in narrow slits, revealing a measure of suspicion and unease.
Well.. What would you expect when she'd been practically threatened into this exchange. The night before was nothing she wanted to ever recall, where kensington had maliciously threatened and urged her for her very assistance in the middle of the night with a look of such desperation it reeked of nothing good. In fact, the very exchange horrified her so much she could barely sleep a wink. The whole night she just laid in bed restlessly, wand raised, and ready for whatever Kensington had planned. She suspected murder but something about that tone of voice lead her to imagine worse. Cannibalism perhaps... or maybe some sick sort of artwork involving body parts and the blood of the weak. Who really knew anyway. All she knew was that Kensington could not certainly be as normal as she seemed when she'd HEARD tales of her rendezvousing with Judge at the ice party.
NORMAL hufflepuffs didn't ever 'mingle' with slytherins, not when those Slytherins were Judge Tower.
"so you said you left your things here did you?" she asked, suspicious already given the location. They were standing in the middle of nowhere ville and the ground was covered in snow. Why would anyone decide to just drop their things here and leave it.

Kensington looked at Batty. Why was she looking at her like that? Oh right, she was late.
"I did,"
she said rather calmly which was a tad different from her usually hyper self. After all they were going outside unguarded.
"Long story short, it.."
she refused to say that it had started raining and she had started flipping out.
"It had just been a long day and I was tired and I need my glasses and robe and such. Look I am sorry that I am late, I have been completely off lately if you want to know the truth. Anyway come on, I do plan to get us back before it's dark."
Ken carefully stepped out into the snow.
"I brought a few supplies in case something strange happens along the way, not that I think it will. You've got nothing to worry about."

"mhmm" Batty nodded, as calmly as she could muster. Though it was hard to be calm when she'd just heard those very words Kensington had uttered.
'Just brought a few supplies.'
A few supplies? she gaped. For what?! What did that even mean? The hufflepuff began to inwardly panic, What kind of supplies would one need to find your things. Batty cast a worrisome glance at Ken, and then at the bag in her hand, She wasn't lying. She DID packa few things... quite a few things in fact. In the hand of the hufflepuff was a rather large back, stuffed to the brim, its contents unknown though guessed inside lay an array of duct tape, robes and weird torture devices. And bleach.. looots and lots of bleach.
She gulped and kept walking behind the Hufflepuff, just far enough to keep her distance should anything get out of hand."So er... " she began cautiously "Do you remember where you left yoru things or should we split up and start looking?" YES SPLIT UP. GREAT IDEA "you know.. cavass the scene. Thats what the police do. I suppose the ministry does the same. When people go missing, you know.. like if something should happen to me" if you try anything she thought to herself, trying to subtly warn Kensington without arousing suspicion. Nothing was worse than facing an angry murderer.

Kensi had ran so fast that there was a slight possibility that she had dropped things in different directions.
Ken : Alright,
she said as she opened the backpack. She pulled out duct tape, rope, and a small vial that held a light yellow liquid.
Ken: Take these and go south west. My robe should be back that way.
She looked up at the sky. They still had about forty five minutes before the dark would start to take over.
Ken: This also,
she said handing Batty a small ear piece.
Ken: Just hit the green button if you need to speak to me. You're going to want to be careful though. It's crazy how wild everything seems to become after dark. Whatever you do, do not, under any circumstance drink that liquid. It's only purpose is to be poured on the ground.
It was meant to create lots of smoke, a distraction in case some wild animal came after them or better yet some teacher came out trying to disrupt their trip.

"... right" Batty mumbled as she was given instructions and handed things. The more they hung out, the more it seemed that this was not just some ordinary 'find this for me please' favor. Never had she gone to such lengths before, and quite reasonably felt hesitant to even stick anything in any part of her body. She looked down at the earpiece and turned it around in her hand, wondering if this was some sort of brain control device where the moment she placed it in her ear, Kensington would garner full control.
That's silly... she tried to convince herself, but there was no way to convince anyone if the normality of all this. The odds were that yes she would be murdered, yes these devices were of mass destruction and no she was not insane.
But still... what could she do? It was this or die an instantaneous death. Maybe she could run before the kill caught up with her.
Yes..
Batty obediently placed the earpiece in her ear and smiled awkwardly at Ken, as if to suggest her total compliance. Except for one thing...
"So uh.. when I go south.. west was it? um where exactly will you be?"

Ken started to speak when the clouds slowly and seemingly with a slight hint of evil begin to gather together. While she heard everything that Batty was saying, her eyes would have told a completely different story. They turned upwards. Her mind slowly began to race, and her thoughts ironically enough became cloudy.
Ken: I was going to go..
Her eyeballs did not move at all. That was when the worse thing of all happened. Drip..drop..a single one to begin with but it was enough to slightly make Kensi majorly uncomfortable. The truth was in her mind she wanted to scream out "Not today!," but she did not.
Ken: ....
There were no escape of words. Kensi knew that she needed to speak but to actually make the words come out, that was becoming a major problem at the moment. Then again..drip..drop..only this time it made her eyes come down and she stared straight at Batty.
Ken: I'm going to need you to go, LIKE NOW!
No way did she need someone around when she freaked out because of something so simple as water.

She'd hardly noticed the clouds beginning to form in the sky due to the fact that she was currently much too transfixed with Kensingtons increasingly abnormal behavior. Batty watched the way her eyes barely moved and the difficulties she faced in completing her sentences. What was she so worried about anyway? She was the killer in all this after all... if anyone was to be scared it was her. And righfully so.
She looked up herself to see what Ken had taken an obsessive look over but saw nothing of interest, it was getting dark out but only because it would be raining soon.
As if on cue she felt the first of the sprinkles, and was met with Kensingtons horrified face
"N-now? what? where?" she gaped and looked around, where was southwest anyway??? She knew the sun was to the east.. but she could not see any sun. And Kensington was freaking out. Was something going to happen? Was the murder to begin? But who? There was no one else around. no one but you. Gulp.
"O-oh look its.. er.. its raining" she pointed up at the sky cheerfully as if it could detract from her impending doom. Nothing would. She would either die here or southwest, likely in an already prepared grave. "Maybe we should go back inside and not die. I mean.. get dry"

If she were somehow chilled to death, she imagined that it would only be ironic. She slowly blinked and looked. Yeah they did need to move, yes she did need to get dry but she did not know if she was capable of such things at the moment. As bubbly as she normally was, water made her whole composure do a one hundred and eighty.
She shook her head. It was slow but to her it felt like even just a turn of her neck was an eternity. She agreed that they needed to be dry, hell at this point she just wanted to say forget it all and get new everything. However she felt like that would make her a coward and she did not want to be one of those. So she was deciding to push through the best she can which was not going to be much at all.
Ken : We can dry off later. If I leave now, and trust me I really want to but if I leave now I will never come back. Just come with me before it truly gets dark and we both lose it.

Kensington's movements had almost become robotic, Batty watched her head slowly crank left, then right, then back again to indicate no, but the speed in which it was delivered was as if she were in need of an oil change or a tune up. Later she moaned ruefully at Kens indication to press forward. It was quite possible that the items were already weather torn from being out all night or maybe someone else would find it, or or ... anything. It could be anything but none of that mattered when nothing she said could sway this murderous rage that had already been honed by none other than Kensington Landry, Year five, of Hufflepuff house, Dorm 4, second bed from the right.
She'd memorized all the details and particulars and even owled a copy to Davina that morning, a class A and something of a friend to her. She'd stuck up for her in the past against bullies, and was always around to exchange pitiful looks during her moments of despair that felt somewhat comforting. Not that any of that mattered really, the fact that she had power and authority did and so Batty felt there was no better person to give such information to than her. Though what the slytherin made of the random information was left to her own interpretation. To Batty she imagined the girl would know right away that it was an SOS.
Batty pulled the hood of her robe over her head to shield herself from the rain and walked along, eyes canvassing the scene for anything that didn't look like it was grown from the wild. Book glasses robes... book glasses robes.. she repeated in her head as they walked, scanning the left fully before turning her head to the right to do the same, all the while the rain began to pick up, And kens movements became twitchier and twitchier. The itch to kill is getting to her. It was painfully obvious that something would happen soon if they didn't find it soon enough---
"OH" she gaped at the small mound that had once been covered in a light snow was now beginning to melt away from the rain into a sloshy wet mush. Batty crossed over to the mound and picked up with her thumb and forefinger what looked to be a black pair of school robes, just beside it lay an ancient runes text with a pair of thick dark rimmed glasses on top.
"Found it.. over here!" don't need to murder me now. She carefully began to fold the damp robe into a neat square, when she noticed that Ken hadn't moved at all. Batty turned around to find the girl stiff frozen, she'd not even pulled her hood up or anything. "... Ken?" she asked hesitantly, her hand slowly reached for the pair of glasses on top of the text. It was better to get everything first and then run. Maybe hold it hostage.. maybe throw it at her as a surprise attack. ANYTHING was better than nothing.
(OOC: SORRY I TOOK SO LONG. I didn't have any muse to post all week and didn't want to post garbage. Forgive meee)

Her mind was racing so fast that Kensi thought that her heart might literally beat out of her chest. Thankfully not but it was too early to tell what might happen. That's the thing about the mind though, while it can be a fantastic thing and pull at all of those happy emotions it does not take but a second for all that to change. From a simple feeling of yes I want and need to do this to hell no I just want out.
Her body was not. She was breathing thankfully but as far as movement went, well that was a no go. After a solid two minutes she finally managed to blink. She was a mess, a complete and utter mess and she really needed to drag herself back into the castle and tuck herself away forever. As a matter of fact that was her plan. Get out now. Go back to the castle all the while saying screw it to everything else and never come out again.
That way she would never have to shower ever again and people would leave her alone because she was sure that this was going to go a little viral. She felt her eyes slightly roll in the back of her head.
Ken: Damn,
she said as she attempted to move towards Batty but there was no moving. Kensington Landry was mentally locked into place which was coming through a little too real in her physical.
As the rain poured down, the white that had once covered the ground was slowly being eaten by the liquid and turning into nothing but swirled mush. Finally she thought that she was going to be able to take a step, but as she attempted to, the slippery from beneath her got the best of her and Kensi went face first into the mush.
Honestly for her, all things considering she had been holding it together pretty well but this was where she reached her limits. She let out a scream that if had it been any octaves higher would have drew blood from her ears. Still it was pretty loud and so were the words that echoed after.
I hate water!
Of any texture, color, and mix. Let her breakdown commence.

Just as Batty had turned around to see what was up with Kensington did she see the scene unveil before her very eyes, Kensingtons attempt to move forward failed with the slip of her foot and a nose dive right into the ground, with a loud PLOP, the muddy water splattered in every direction hitting Batty from the knee up. She stood there in shock for a moment when something tickled in her belly, her face began to meld into a weird wicked grin, and her cheeks puffed.
Don't laugh.. whatever you do.. don't l----
But fortunately the moment she doubled over in a deep and hearty laughter was the very moment that Kensington let out a shrilling scream, one that would blockout the mocking sounds of her laughter.
"Pffff----- K--K" she panted and attempted to converse with her but it was so hard. She'd just seem the girl do a face plant, no amount of maturity would ever she'd her amusement to ones untimely humiliation "Keeeheheennn. " she chuckled, her laugh getting more and more aggressive as she watched her housemate just lay there motionlessly, she knew it was wrong to laugh she really did but her mix of anxiety didn't help the situation any better. Laughing was the ultimate aggressor to a situation and she might be very close to death. BUT DAMN. Did it feel worth it.
"C-c-comfy over there?" she finally managed to muster out before doubling back over, holding onto her knees for support.

She knew to people it was not much but in the short time that she had been here Ken had never felt like she had been tested so much as a person.
Ken : Not really,
she said. Ken was not even angry but she was not laughing either. She just, gee she was at such a loss for words. Was this funny? Maybe. Was it a laughing matter right now? Heck no. Kensi felt herself fall down into the area.
Ken: This is totally not what I hoped.
It was supposed to be get in and get out. Go back into the castle so no one would have to stay here.
Ken : Life is completely unfair. Let's get back to the castle before anything else goes wrong.
Right now she could not afford for anything else to go wrong. It was not that she would lose it or anything like that, she simply was tired.
