The last thing he wanted was for anyone to follow him, but playing the part of the damsel in distress would inevitably fall into a trope. Kai wanted to get as far away from this party, these people, this tragic play's Act III as fast as possible. He said the shittiest thing he probably ever said in his life, and people were still interested in pursuing him. It was aggravating. It was the exact opposite of what he wanted. If this had been one of his schoolyard bullies, Kai would have been decked in the face and he would have walked away. Unphased and forgotten. Until the next time someone roughed him up. He had never been followed before. When Kai walked away, those rare emotional moments, no one ever followed. He was a crybaby, he would sob his eyes out and then forgive. He was a forgiver. No one gave a shit. That's Kai. That was all Kai was. Nodding his head to inaudible beats and agreeing with what everyone else said and then crying if people pointed a finger at him. He never had more to him. But here he was, being stopped by someone deeply concerned for him, and he didn't know what to say. A part of him wished it had been Llewellyn. So he could headbutt his fucking mop head to the floor. But he had made no move, still sitting at the bar with Edmund. This was how it was now, wasn't it? Kai would never hurt him. Even now, he wanted so badly to forgive him. Had Kai always been this pathetic of a person? "I'm fine," He squeaked, eyes wide like his smile, "I'm not mad at all. I'm not. I'm completely fuckin' fine." His fingers dug into his ribs, and he wanted so badly for Tobias to let him go. He wasn't mad at Tobias. He convinced himself of this. It was beyond just an offhanded comment. Or, maybe, as Tobias' words sunk in, "If y'didn' care 'bout the people I've been doin', you wouldn' be jealous. Don' fuckin' feed me tha' shit," His tone was coarse, and suddenly his mother's voice was shining through his. Late night phone calls. Late night talks at the dinner table, explaining herself, venom dripping from her tongue as she spoke of his dad. Why, why, why, why did he still call? He actually had no idea what he was talking about. But it weighed so heavy on his thoughts. "I'm tired, okay?" His shoulders shrugged high, almost acting as if he didn't say that last bit, "I'm goin' to bed. Like, I'm fuckin' outie. I wanna sleep. I'm just, like, sooooo tired, f'real."

Llewellyn seemed to debate internally when he sat back down. Edmund couldn't help but mentally slap himself when he caught his new companion glancing at his green bracelet. He should have at least chosen something that left things open. He never would have grabbed the yellow, but the more he glanced around the room, the more he noticed that there was a large population of people into the same gender. He thought he saw, like, two or three straight people in the whole room. Did it really matter to anyone else whether Edmund wanted to know what Llewellyn's lips felt like?
"It's kind of all out there, isn't it?" Llewellyn said and Edmund sighed. "Yeah, I can't imagine everyone being comfortable having everything out there." He said, making small talk but unintentionally mirroring his own feelings. His parents would disinherit him a second time if they thought he was into anything other than pureblood females. He was a stepping stone to bring his family to higher society, and he accepted it. That was his role.
"I don't usually see you around at parties," He continued and Edmund smirked. It was true, this wasn't his usual scene. He'd stopped in on one now and then, but he was always a touch more sober than everyone else. He was glad for the fuzziness in his mind, otherwise the large number of people in the room would make him anxious. "You know I always stop by the ones I'm expected to," he said, swirling his drink in his hand. "There's not usually an interesting enough person to make me stay though." He downed the drink. He meant for it to be flirting, but because of his tone and seeming interest in his drink, his intentions probably seemed unclear. As always. Llewellyn suddenly got uncomfortable, and he wasn't sure why, because Edmund had not been paying the least bit attention to where his brother had gone or who he was talking to.

Post by Bridgette Flynn on Jul 1, 2016 11:04:54 GMT -5
"... fight a lamp..." Bridgette laughed, thinking of all the fun things she had done while she was drunk. She was more the hit on everyone she knew kind of drunk, but honestly the stories were her favourite part. "I would love to see that," she grinned, hoping Ana hadn't made that up off the top of her head. "Of course that's me on a regular basis," Ana continued. Bridgette frowned then. She knew Ana could probably come off strong, and did have a seance for fun, but Bridgette hadn't heard stories or seen her go batshit on anyone. "I... guess I wouldn't know." Bridgette threw uselessly. Ana turned away when Bridgette admitted she really wanted her there, and her stomach flipped. Shit, she wasn't interested was she? And she wouldn't be drunkenly making out with her, because she wasn't drinking. So why did she feel like she still wanted to grab the girl's attention? Bridgette wanted that bitchy face turned only towards her all night, and it wasn't just because she wanted to make out with someone. She honestly didn't care if Ana was dragged there, she was there. But when she admitted that it might have peaked her interest, Bridgette's face broke into a stupid grin. "... I don't know," Ana said and pressed her fingers to her forehead. Oh my god.
A thought started bubbling in Bridgette's head. Maybe Ana was confused. Her heart sank. She'd been the hookup for some girls to determine whether they were gay or not, but this was not something she wanted to do with Ana. And she realized it as she watched Ana glance towards the commotion at the end of the bar. She kind of wanted to take her out to dinner. She kind of wanted to be stuck with the girl. Shit. Realizing her attempts at hitting on Ana would probably only end in a sad hookup and an admit that she was straight, Bridgette's expression hardened and she turned back to the wall of liquor, grabbing the bottle of tequila. Already a little sloppy, she upturned the bottle, pouring it straight into her mouth. It burned and she repressed a gag, but simply wiped her mouth off when she slammed the bottle back down. Bridgette pulled her shirt a little, exposing more of her black bra and adjusting her cleavage. She then walked away from Ana without another word, heading to the back room. She needed to get out of this situation. Entering the second room, she noted a few people dancing, grinding on each other, dancing alone. She entered the floor, feeling the low beat vibrate through her body. She moved to the it, flowing with the song, trying to ease her building anger. The only thing it did was fester in her gut as she tried to ignore it.

Good, he’d heard her. As he came over a greeted her cooly it was clear just how much more drunk than him she was. She’d had at least one of those shots she’d been passing out, right? She wasn’t sure now. But he'd asked her for a drink. Something that could burst his liver? Seeing his vodka she grinned, she had just the drink in mind. While she was grabbing espresso powder, sugar and several lemon which she’d de-rinded, she noticed an excess of pink which was one of her best friends. She placed the ingredients in front of Ren with two shot glasses, as she smiled.
“It’s called the Nicolashka, place some of the espresso powder, sugar and a lemon in you mouth than take the first shot of vodka. Chew up the mixture in your mouth and quickly follow with the next shot,” she told him grinning, looking over at Tilly who had joined them, “You’ll be hitting on Tilly before you know it."
She grinned at Tilly as she said that. She knew the girl had a crush on the Slytherin Captain, and she sure as hell was going to try and help with that. Let nobody say Liz Reeves was not a good wing woman. Turning to her friend she started mixing up a number of shots and a heavy cocktail drink which she’d have to watch her friend on, because while it didn’t taste alcoholic, it packed a punch.
“Wondering when you’d get here Tilly,” she said passing her four shots and a cocktail to start, “Drink up, you’re far too sober to make the smart decision to hit on Ren or anyone else here. Love the outfit by the way.”

"There's not usually an interesting enough person to make me stay though."
It was then that it hit Llewellyn that whatever was going on behind them didn't matter, and while he did feel bad, he wanted himself removed from that sort of melodrama and the sooner he stopped caring, the better, even if his name was being thrown around like a practice quaffle. He was sitting next to a guy leagues outside of his own that was conceivably interested in him, and the only thing that was going through his mind was a guy that never gave him the time of day and treated him more like an extension of himself, like an old sweater that you took off whenever you felt like it and left it in the corner for months. You never got rid of that sweater because it was comfortable and nostalgic, but that didn't mean you wore it often or even at all. But what if that sweater grew legs and got fed up with their needs not being met? Llewellyn supposed that had been why he cut things off with Kai the way he did, but the epiphany still left him stunned.
Maybe one day years later they would each move on with their lives, and Llewellyn would still love a Kai from their sixth year but that teenage boy would be gone. With time they would grow apart and change. Llewellyn could already feel himself changing and growing into his own person, and while it was often terrifying and painful, it was for the best, and the wound he bore now would scar and fade over time.
He was quiet while he thought about this, leaving the blue-eyed boy beside him to his thoughts and his dismally empty drink. Llewellyn restlessly bit down on his lower lip, a nervousness creeping up into his gut over what he was about to do. As Edmund's arm lowered, Llewellyn reached out and caught him by the green bracelet, looping a finger around it as his forearm grazed the others.
"So let's talk about this," he said carefully. "Because you don't seem disinterested... So you either have a girlfriend or boyfriend who wants a threesome or you're just as afraid as I was when you came in and looked at that table."
It was forward of him to say, and under normal circumstances Llewellyn was anything but forward, but maybe it was time for him to start going after the things he wanted.

Kai was obviously not fine. He let go go his boyfriend’s arm, as it became clear to him how unwanted that was. The worst part was he completely didn’t get why Tobias was jealous. It wasn’t about them sleeping together or whatever, it was about them knowing each other. He shouldn’t have said he was jealous. Why on earth had he admitted that! He loved Kai and he was terrified that he’d change his mind and start to believe what all of his friends seemed to think of him. He didn’t want to loss him. But apparently, he was. At record speed too. But Kai wanted to go now. Really, they never should have came.
“Okay,” he said, “I’ll walk you back then. Promise that’s it. I just want to make sure you get back to your common room safely.”
He was worried Lachlan or mop head might try and stop Kai before he got back. Honestly he was still worried that Llewellyn would say something when Kai was in his room and Tobias was way up in the Gryffindor common room. Unable to do anything to stop, help or protect his boyfriend. Taking a deep breath, he gestured to a newly found door.
“Looks like this is our exit then,” he said, letting Kai leave first.

Lachlan was still watching, wide-eyed and stunned. He wanted to stop Toby; he knew in his gut the guy was bad for Kai. And Kai was doing that thing again, where he pulled in on himself, as if he was trying not to throw up. Lachlan wouldn't have noticed except that he'd been the same way when Dani had surprised them under the quidditch stands.
But he couldn't do anything. Toby was his boyfriend, so Lachlan had no say.
He went to run his hand through his hair only to encounter the flower crown. That was rich. One of the reasons he was wearing it was because he'd had some notion about giving Kai a flower from it, if he happened to turn up. It was supposed to be fun, a joke between him and Kai, and Lachlan knew it would piss Toby off. He ripped it from his head. It didn't seem so funny now.

[ now wearing no bracelets. ] Perhaps Divination was a valid subject after all, seeing as Ana had foretold exactly how this night would play out well before it actually played out. It started with Bridgette's comment, how she didn't simply just insult Ana. How Ana set herself up for insult, and all Bridgette replied with was that she "wouldn't know". No, she wouldn't exactly know, but everyone knew Ana was a ridiculous bitch for no reason and had no qualms starting an argument with anyone (or anything). She wanted the Ravenclaw to follow her remark, be playful and rude and belittle her. Ana liked it when they argued. It was a relaxing environment for her. It was what they did. But Bridgette wasn't feeling it, and suddenly Ana was wondering if she had struck a nerve. She had no idea what she even said, what she could have possibly done where she was even worse than normal. But Bridgette turned away, downed some alcohol like she was trying to forget they even spoke. Clearly, Ana went from being someone Bridgette was looking forward to seeing, to someone she wanted to get the fuck away form, and she stomped off with those long legs before the Slytherin even got the chance to ask what the hell was happening. "Flynn!?" Ana stood up against her stool, with her knees digging into the fabric and her hands against the counter, leaning over to watch where she was going. It didn't matter where she was going. She was gone. Sinking back down, leg tucked underneath her, she dug her fingernails into the smooth counter and tried to recount everything she said; her brow furrowed and she bit her lip carelessly. What did she even say? What did she fucking do? "Ugh, what a whore," She swore beneath her breath. Of course the one person she tried to talk to was just some bonkers bitchlord that had no interest in her. What a fucking shit show. What an utterly awful night. She knew her anger was misguided. At least nobody was there to hear it. But at least she knew now, that it was a fruitless road down Bridgette Flynn lane, and she slung her bag back over her shoulder. At least the pills were kicking in now. Hooking her fingers under the bracelets on her wrist, the yellow coming out of hiding unwillingly, she pulled until they snapped off her ghostly flesh. There was no fucking way she was going to even pretend she wanted the D tonight. She didn't want it, ever. And while she had a hard time admitting she wanted anything else, tonight she would distance herself as far as possible from anything that would just make her stomach feel worse. She was here to have a good time. There was no way this ridiculous altercation would stop her from enjoying the rest of her night. Black rimmed eyes glanced back at Llewellyn, to see if he was looking for an escape. He seemed pretty keen on the Strangways clone. Of course he was. He loved being inconvenient. She flung the bracelets onto the counter. What-fucking-ever. Removing herself from the bar, Ana found her way toward the entrance, looking for familiar faces to distract herself with. There weren't any. Well, she could try to find Zayn, but she would rather claw her eyes out than deal with him. He was likely higher than a kite, or drunk enough to be a pain in the ass. So, she decided "fuck it". She pulled what little dignity she had left together, and she walked out the door, behind the crying boyfriends, past the lingering outsiders, and away from this ridiculous, disgusting party. Ana's out, byyyyye~ edit: lmao

It felt absolutely awful to pull back from Tobias, to want his distance. Despite Kai's bright and outgoing demeanor, he was truthfully the type to hide inside himself. It was easy for everyone, even Kai, to forget how lonesome he was as a person. Quiet moments were the best kind. Spending time with people was easy when all they did was loaf up near each other, shoot the shit about nothing. But he felt like he was suffocating now. He wasn't as clingy as he thought he was. Or maybe he just felt, in that moment, that he wanted nothing to do with anyone. He loved Tobias. Even if he was too shy to say it sometimes. And he couldn't stay mad at him. He was mad at him. He would deny it all he wanted, but... It would pass. Things like this always passed. Things were changing, wildly and uncontrollably, and he didn't really know himself anymore. But he could likely, safely assume that he was too much of a coward, too completely soft in his guts, to not forgive when someone said sorry. "Yeah... Fine," Kai's expression finally fell. Tired and accepting. No longer panicked and confused, just hurt. "Fine, yeah. Le's jus' go..." His fingers grasped the fabric of his shirt, and he followed Tobias out the door. All he wanted was to say that Tobias could follow him inside, but that wasn't true. He couldn't lie like that. Kai needed to be alone, away from Tobias, away from Lachlan, and while he slept in the same room as Llewellyn, the two of them retained their distance anyway. That's how it'd always be. That's just how it was now. Closeby bodies, but distant feelings. He didn't want that to be him and Tobias. He wouldn't allow it to be. But for now, only silence came from the Hufflepuff. Kai & Tobias r So Gone, gbye~

Lachlan watched them leave and then, God, he might as well have just left himself. But he couldn't do that either because it would just look like he was following them. Ugh.
He turned and for the first time noticed Ed and Llewellyn seemed to be getting on well. Oh, wait. Yellow and red. Right by the door, he could refresh his memory on what all those bracelets were supposed to mean now.
Huh, good for Llewellyn. And good for Edmund? Or maybe he was just being polite.
He returned to the bar, because since he couldn't leave he may as well get smashed.
"Looks better on you than me," he told Ren, dropping the crown on his head.
"Absinthe," he told Liz. "The French way."

Post by Ren Kim on Jul 2, 2016 0:06:42 GMT -5
Well, Ren did like the taste of cold coffee. While his expression remained dubious to it, one eyebrow up as he listened to her explain the steps to wreck himself. Honestly, she could have slammed him back with a bottle of tequila and he'd thank her for it. But he brought the ingredients closer to him, lined up neatly out of habit, and let the corners of his lips frown as Liz seemingly poked fun at his typical party schedule. "Oh, here I was thinking I'd be hitting on you tonight, Reeves," He replied playfully. Though he felt kinda bad for saying that, as if to imply that he didn't find her interesting. He wasn't quite sure why he said it. His black gaze turned to Tilly, acknowledged her with a light nod. He couldn't help but notice how well she was dressed, like a princess descending to her pupils. That was Tilly, wasn't it? Always looking strangely nice. But he didn't say anything, instead opening the espresso packet and emptying its contents onto his tongue. The conversation was drowned out by his focus on how awful raw coffee tasted, but he pressed on with the festivities, because he truly did wish to get drunk enough to hit on someone. That's just what he did. The first shot went down hard. The second shot was probably the best tasting drink he had since the school year started. A definite mix to keep in mind for later, whenever he was looking to poison himself. His eyes pinched closed for a moment, before a grin cracked through his resting scowl. It wasn't hitting him completely just yet, but there was a definite, unmistakable buzz happening. He didn't even notice Lachlan approach them until the flower crown fell onto his head. Ren's fingers steadied it, pressing it further onto his head so it stayed in place. "Ahhh, maybe now I can fit in amongst the royalty here," He purred, giving his fellow Slytherin a smile. It was obvious that Ren wasn't quite sober when he was actually smiling at people. That's exactly the thing he needed tonight. Absinthe. That's exactly what Ren wanted to hear. "So. I'm guessing the whole bracelet idea was a bit of a bust," Ren commented, as the majority of the new found group of drunks seemed to take it as a joke. Both he and Tilly seemed to just pick colors that matched their attire, while Lachlan wanted to accessorize to his fullest potential tonight. "Liquor and inhibition don't really go hand in hand, anyway," With that, he pawed at the counter gently, implying that he wished to have what Lachlan was having. He didn't even realize how silly that was, instead of just saying he wanted the same. The Nicolashka was definitely hitting him now.

When Lachlan ordered absinthe, she pulled out two glasses. Assuming, rightly it seemed that Ren would want one too. As she poured the chilled water over the sugar, she laughed at Ren’s comment.
“Feel free,” she said, “But considering I’m running the bar tonight, I think you’ll have better luck elsewhere."
Though with how much she was drinking she might not be running the bar much longer.
"Just warning you,” she added with a wink.
She didn’t mind flirting with people younger than her. Though she preferred older men. A very specific older man, that voice in the back of her head told her as she ordered it to shut up with a heavy shot of something. Really, she shouldn’t be drinking while serving drinks, though it’s not like they would notice the reduction in quality once they were smashed. As Ren mentioned the bracelet’s she laughed, passing both of them their drinks.
“Yeah,” she said, the pink, yellow and blue bands on her arm quite obvious, “Smart idea but problematic when not everyone is out in the open. They should be everywhere so you can switch them as you like. Or enchanted so they change with your mood, for those of us who’s sexuality is fluid. But that would be the worst way to out yourself. Imagine, technicolor bracelet now flashing gay to the world."
She was grinning now. The liquor was definitely in full swing. She really should be counting drinks she thought, as she shot back another of her candied shots. Wasn’t she supposed to be watching Tilly on her drinks as well? Something like that, right?

Have You Seen My Cat?
|
Post by Gryffon Pierce on Jul 2, 2016 1:30:55 GMT -5
(wearing)Griffin had gotten a letter about the party. Griffin had ignored the letter he'd gotten about the party. Parties were not his thing. His thing was sitting in his room with his cats. However all of his cats seem to have better things to do that night. So he sat reading a book until Mara walked in."Hey pretty girl what you got?" He asked as the pure white Maine coon walked over to him with something in her mouth, "if that's another live bird so help me..."He started, but didn't get to finish, as Mara let the bird go. As it flopped around obviously in pain, he grabbed his wand to try and heal the poor thing. That's when Mara grab the bird and took off. He followed her out of the dorm room, through the common room, out the passageway, and among many corridors after that. Finally he stood by an open door it that she slipped into. Expecting to catch her he walked straight into the single's party he'd been trying to avoid. He froze at first. He didn't like crowds. He could handle them at Quidditch, but parties? That was too much. Nope he was getting out of here. That was, he would have been, if he hadn't heard a familiar voice calling him from further in. Why Liz? Why? He wandered over to wear she was standing, still looking around for Mara as he did so."Hi," he said to the four other people there, "Have you seen a white Maine Coon with a bird in her mouth?"As he paused looking for the cats he notice who is was sitting and standing on his side of the bar: Ren Kim, Lachlan Strangways and Matilda Priestly who looked very nice dressed all in pink.

Play it cool. Play it cool. Play it cool. The three words echoed through her mind as the young Hufflepuff brought her gaze to her friend, brown eyes both shocked and thankful at the Gryffindor’s helpful assist. Liking Ren Kim was similar to having a celebrity crush - she was never going act on it, but nonetheless, the various what-ifs that floated through her subconscious often tempted her to push subtlety aside. Before Matilda had a chance to retort back, her attention was quickly drawn to the deft hands of the lioness who had begun preparing an alcoholic concoction that was sure to effectively ruin her clear headed state. Hah! As if she was ever completely sober in the first place. “Oh, you know me. I’m just always fashionably late." Amusement and laughter followed her words before she raised the shot glass and tilted it towards Liz - a toast for their friendship and the beginning of impaired senses and bad decisions. Just the way she liked it. Pouring the drink slowly and expecting the familiar bite of ethanol to sting her throat as she swallowed, the girl was left with a pleasant taste on her tongue as she finished her first shot. While her palate questioned whether Liz had gone easy on her, her brain knew better as it urged the Hufflepuff to take it slow. Sadly, that advice was promptly extinguished when she downed her second shot. From the corner of her eye, the fabulously dressed Lachlan Strangways approached the trio and dropped a crown on Ren’s head, adding to the Slytherin’s already dazzling charisma. “But, you’re already royalty.” Tilly piped up, hoping her statement sounded less like an insistent remark and more like a casual - completely chill - comment. “I mean, no normal human can make Quidditch captain, right Liz?” With her chin resting on her palm, the badger turned to look at the head of the Gryffindor team before tipping amber liquid down her throat. Matilda’s eyes, now blurry from a growing inebriation, casted hazy glances at the glowing bracelets dangling on their wrists as Ren and Liz questioned the efficiency of the multi-colored circlets. She only wished she remembered the implications of each hue. Perhaps a special bracelet, one accompanied by bolded text, could've been made for the forgetful like her. “Mm, but when we’re completely wasted, all the colors will just blend into a kaleidoscopic mess and everyone will just snog the person nearest to them.” A tipsy smile quirked at the corners of her lips as she blew the Gryffindor a playful kiss. Her earlier clarity was now dwindling down into a drunken disarray and the serene lightheadedness that gripped her consciousness slowly began to muddy her cognition. "Have you seen a white Maine Coon with a bird in her mouth?"From seemingly out of nowhere (drinks made even magical things more magical), Gryffon made his entrance to the group, however it was the content of his words that stirred a juvenile excitement within her. “Gryffon! Your cat’s here? Oh, I hope you find her. Poor sweet thing must be so confused.” Tag: Liz Reeves , Ren Kim , Gryffon Pierce , Lachlan Strangways . Wearing: [ click ] + pink bracelet

She laughed at Tilly’s comment on quidditch captains. It was fair that she herself pushed her team's and her own limits extremely far, but not all the other captains were like here. Though she expected Ren might be. Really the amount of time she put into not only quidditch but making sure she had the body to stay good at quidditch… Well with the exception of the alcohol she was now filling herself with. But livers weren’t an important quidditch necessity. Noticing a frozen hufflepuff sixth year whom she knew at the entrance she yelled over to him.
“Yo, Gryffon,” she said, “Get over here and be social with us!”
As he walked over she realized he didn’t seem to want to be here. Then why had he come? Well, she started making more fruity shots both for him and for Tilly. Apparently his cat had lead him in here. She wasn’t surprised. The three of them were a constant site around Hogwarts nowadays. Even Psycho, her dog, was afraid of them, well some of them. Considering they were twice his size, it made sense that the crup would be frightened. Though she'd seen him walking around with the black one a couple of times.
“Which one is that?” she asked, pushing shots towards him and Tilly, “You have three of them right?"
