If there was one thing Colin loved more than Quidditch, it would be taking naps. Well, that was not true, at least not entirely for there really was nothing he liked more than sleeping. Yes, there definitely wasn’t, especially when the weather was just right on a bright summer where he could sneak under the seats in the Quidditch pitch and hide himself away for a couple of hours. It was heavenly, the distant sound of students going about their day and the calming summer breeze. He could definitely just fall asleep there and never wake up. Well, maybe not forever, it was Sunday after all and despite having finished his homework, he felt he should at least read up for his classes on Monday so he doesn’t look like a complete moron.
Later, he decided as a gust of wind blew and he leaned back against a pillar, closing his eyes. Whatever Potions or Transfiguration have waiting for him it can wait. After all, it was a rare moment of silence granted to him seeing he had not crossed path with Olive for at least an hour. What an amazing day it had been and he wanted to enjoy it while it lasted.

"So this is where you've been hiding out all this time" she joked, ducking her head as she entered the shaded area beneath the stands. She'd spent the better part of an hour scouring the dungeons, and grounds canvassing every possible area he might be hiding. Who'd have guessed he'd pick the one spot she'd never think of looking. Under the stands provided a great shelter from the heat, but it also served a more important calling for many teenagers at hogwarts. It served as a snogging platform for lovesick teens.
She'd never imagined in a hundred years that meeting Colin in a place like this would serve other purposes.
But that.. she'd get to soon enough. For now, she'd found him.
Olive smiled.. well.. more like smirked as she looked down at him. She loved the way the sweat beads built up over his lip, and the way that his cheeks were flushed, like the way he looked in matches. Another reason to love summer. Sigh... Olive didn't seem to notice that she had been staring at him all this time.. it was like time froze every time she looked down at his face.

Well, it was good while it lasted, Colin thought privately. He sighed deeply, refusing to open his eyes the minute he heard Olive’s voice. Just a minute longer, he wanted to pretend Olive wasn’t there for a minute longer and his peace and quiet day was still peaceful and well, quiet. He knew, after all, from the moment he sat down mere minutes ago, that she would find him. Olive was extremely persistent and it would be a miracle of Colin could get through the day without seeing her at least once. Eh, once if he was lucky and if he wasn’t, she would be trailing him from morning until he retired to his dorm. Okay, that wasn’t true, Olive had definitely sneaked up into his dorm until his dormmates expressed their discomfort of her presence there. Needless to say, she was banned from the boy’s dorm and Colin was thankful for that little blessing.
Unfortunately, Olive’s banning never quite deterred her obsession of him. It had probably escalated since their second year and as much as Colin wanted nothing more than for her to leave her alone, there really wasn’t anything he can do. Saved maybe appear to be a complete dick to her and everyone judging – no, she still wouldn’t stop. He had absolutely tried the jerk approach and it had only increase support for her in pursuit of him from their school mates. Honestly, the school can be pretty boring and Colin can’t fault anyone taking an interest in the drama, even if he disliked it.
“I wasn’t hiding,” Colin said after a while, opening his eyes and wiping the sweat that was forming on his face as he looked up to the dazed girl. True, he wasn’t hiding, he was just taking a nap, but it wasn’t like he was going to explain to Olive what he was doing there. She would just most likely spin something in her favour even if he tried. Instead, he opted to go with his usual defensive mode seeing that was all he could do and ask; “What do you want?”

"mhmm" she mumbled in disbelief. 'not' hiding. Right. As if she were born yesterday. Still, the thought that he was not hiding from her.. or even the lie, kind of made her feel fuzzy inside. Like some progress had been made in their relationship. Like maybe she was finally starting to grow on him. And maybe next year he'd finally admit his undying love for her, how all those years on the side lines as his personal supporter had finally reached the warm place in his heart and made him realize that they were destined to be.
Swooonnn......
That made whatever she had to say next more difficult than it already was.
"I wanted to tell you that.. um" her cheeks flushed "that a... that I--" she felt so flustered.. why were the words so hard to get out.And that dreamy face of his, how adorable it looked when he first awoke... so many times she purposefully woke him up to see that face before a huge meltdown.
"Oh I don't know how to say this." she bit down on her lip, eyes awkwardly avoiding meeting his gaze, absolutely speechless for the first time in her life.

Colin could only guess what scenario was playing through Olive’s head, but he was certain it would be the complete opposite of what it actually was. It was how Olive operated, everything would be altered to fit her fantasy and the truth don’t matter. Even if he screamed at her at the top of his lungs, he had no doubt her fantasy would involve something akin to him professing his undying love to her and the thought alone caused him to shudder. He would date Olive alright, when hell freezes over. Though, knowing Olive, she would freeze the hell itself just for him. Definitely not a good thought.
He groaned, hearing her talk on a daily basis was torture enough but add to her stuttering as if she was this shy maiden annoyed him even further. His eyes snapped shut and he gritted his teeth, willing himself not to shout because the last thing he wanted was for one of her supporters to show up and lecture him on how lucky he was to have her at his beck and call. Really, if those people could take Olive off of his hands, he would be far more grateful.
“Spill it, Greene,” he muttered, his anger was boiling underneath his every word. He had no patience for Olive and whatever it was that she wanted to say, but it would save him more time than her skulking around him until he relented.

'Spill it Greene' she flinched at the underlying anger that filled the gaps of that word. SPILL IT GREENE. Like she was wasting his time (well she kind of was) but this.. Olive just gaped at the ungrateful bastard standing before her. Here she wanted to make things easy, talk things out, maybe give him a chance to convince her otherwise. A really civilized talk. But he just didn't want anything of it.. of her as always.
UGH. Well I'll show that big beautiful stupid head of his. .
"I'm trying out for the team next semester." she spat out rather defiantly, and then as a big eff-you, she added "Your position in fact." GOOD. FEEL THE RAGE FEEL IT SO INTENSE YOU REALIZE YOU LOVE MEthat you cry at night. "Sooooo I just wanted to give you a heads up is all. Have a good day." and with that said she turned to exit, ducking out and trying to put on her best 'don't give a shit face' when really even saying those words broke her very heart.
Love was a struggle, and if this didn't stir up Colins heart she didn't know just what would.

To say that Colin was amused would be an understatement. He wanted to laugh, he really wanted to laugh. But, he decided against it seeing that perhaps it was a good thing Olive was not being all moony eyes on him. “Good,” he replied with a small smirk. “I’ll look forward to competing with you for that position.”
Should he be worried? Probably. Yet, he wasn’t. Not because he was confident in his own ability, rather that he genuinely doesn’t give a flying fuck whether he got to keep his Quidditch position. He loved the game, of course he does, he had been playing ever since he learned how to fly at eleven. But, he wasn’t going to cry over losing a position. Besides, he was already thinking of the bright side. If he was not regular, he wouldn’t have to show up to practice as religiously as he had and better still, that meant he got to sleep a bit more. Honestly, it was a win-win scenario and he would thank Olive if it had not been for him knowing that she would take it the wrong way.
“Thanks,” he stated without a thought. Nobody ever said he couldn’t quit Quidditch, right? Right.
He tipped his head as Olive stalked away, huffing. Something told him that it was not what she planned to say to him, but he just couldn’t care less. Olive was actually walking away and leaving him for some peace and quiet for the afternoon. Life was good, he was in such a good mood he even went as far as deciding he would get started on his reading when he head back up to the common room. Well, after another fifteen minutes or so worth of a nap.
