Frank hated Runes more than he hated hemorrhoids, but he still had to finish his homework if he expected to pull off half decent marks for the class. The library was probably a better choice of location for such a task, but for some reason he was always able to focus more around noise. The common room wasn't exactly noisy, but the ins and outs of people going to and from class did cause a bit of a ruckus. it was just the right amount of chaos Frank needed.
Curled up in an armchair, he had his textbook sprawled out on his lap and began reading the first page of a new chapter. It probably didn't help that he never got around to reading the two previous chapters and therefore didn't know what the hell he was reading, but he would worry about that later. For the moment, he was in the zone.

Olive came storming into the common room just in the nick of time, because there was her favorite punching back sitting around pretending to study. Or maybe he was really studying, who really knew. Olive never took the time to listen to his thoughts and needs. Frank had always been that relatively creepy yet comforting guy that she spilled whatever frustration or sadness that she was feeling over Colin into him.
"Can you believe him. CAN YOU" she shouted, grabbing the book from his hands and tossing it over her shoulder in a fit of rage.
and also the receiving end of her rage.
"THANK YOU." she shouted punching him in the arm
that sometimes got violent...
"THATS what he says to hearing that I might just take his place as keeper. THANK.YOU. UGHHHHHH" she growled, tugging at her hair fuming and pacing in front of Frank's chair.

The term runes is used to distinguish these symbols from Latin and Greek letters. It is attested on a 6th-century Alamannic runestaff as runa and possibly as runo on the 4th-century Einang stone. The name comes from the Germanic root run- (Gothic runa), meaning "secre---
Can you believe him. CAN YOU
As obnoxious as it was, Olive's entrance went completely unnoticed until she shouted and grabbed the book from his hand. The interruption frightened Frank to the point where he peed a bit. There was no time for Frank to process what had just occurred because the next thing he knew he was being assaulted. He mouthed a string of profanities while rubbing the sore spot on his arm, which was really his entire arm because Olive was a careless brute.
"Did you at least say you're welcome?" He had no idea what she was going on about and rarely ever did, but pretending he gave a rat's ass about her man problems and offering some sort of generic "there there, things will look better in the morning" advice usually did the trick.
"And THANK YOU for the vomit beans, by the way. Was a nice touch..." he muttered while retrieving his textbook from a dusty corner.

YOU'RE WELCOME??? YOURE-WEL-COME
A fire lit in Olives fierce manic eyes she was about this close to tearing Franklin apart limb from limb. She stopped dead center, eyes ablaze, hands prepared to make him regret not listening to her as usual.. "DID I... what?" when it suddenly dawned on her. 'you're welcome' was actually the best response to that situation. She could have come across all calm and collected as if what he said didn't matter to her at all.
Genius... so genius.
"You're welcome" she repeated rather smugly, more so to hear it out loud than to really say it to Franklin, whom she was completely unaware was attempting to show any grievances toward her.
Olive plopped into the newly vacant armchair (THANKS FRANK) and tugged at a lock of her crimson hair, brushing it over her lips as she watched Frank, actually look at him for now his role of punchbag was over. Now he was just simply 'Frank' and not 'UGH STUPID COLIN' "What are you doing anyway?"

Frank looked up after dusting off his book and recognizing that crazed look he'd seen one too many times, was prepared to hurl the book at her face and make a run for it, but the emerging psychotic break subsided, and he breathed a sigh of relief and occupied the seat next to her instead.
"Nothing, just trying to catch up on stuff.." When she wasn't obsessing over that Colin kid, Olive was decent company. She was easy on the eyes too, but too abusive to pursue. Besides, she only had eyes for Colin.
"Oh, you said something about being keeper. I didn't know you could play." Frank didn't know much of anything about Olive actually. Most of their encounters mirrored the first; she talked about Colin and then some more about Colin, beat Frank, talked about Colin, and called it a day. Except, he didn't have much of a choice the first time since they were both stuck in the infirmary with a nasty case of the flu. He spent three whole days confined to bed, forced to listen to her rant between hacking coughs and spitting up phlegm. When he told her to shut up she climbed right out of bed, slipped and somehow managed to land a punch right at his throat.
Now when Frank is summoned, he obeys. No questions asked.

"hm? Oh yeah. It's always been my position" always "I just never tried out. You know, love." she nodded, as if he understood. Did he even understand? It suddenly dawned on Olive that she knew absolutely nothing about Frank other than the fact that he was a great listener and strangely enough, loved vomit flavored jelly beans. Olive leaned in to shorten the gap between her and Frank and rested herself on his part of the armrest.
"Hey Frank. Do you have a girlfriend?" she asked but as soon as it came out of her mouth she felt queasy and sick. OH GROSS. EW. WHY why would she even want to ask something like that. And the images oh god.. she flinched back, as if Franklins chair was diseased.
"Uhm and by girlfriend I mean pet. girlfriends pets.. samething.. you know" she coughed. errr... "so cat? dog? rat?"

Frank liked Quidditch quite a bit but never thought to try out for any positions because he was never on time for anything and would probably never make practice. "Oh, yeah." He nodded in agreement, although he didn't completely understand. If she never tried out for keeper because she didn't want to make some idiot feel bad, then she was an idiot too. Most girls are, he thought.
Frank smirked at her next question and sat back in his chair, hands linked behind his head. She was testing the waters. Not outright coming onto him, but letting him know she's interested. He chuckled at her awkwardness.
"Why? You finally ready to move on and have a taste of this frank-further?" he replied grinning. Abusive or not, he had to give the ladies what they wanted.

Have a taste of this Frank... further? oh god... She could taste her lunch already coming up to her throat. If anyone could make her lose her lunch it was Frank when he got all, whatever it was that he thought he was getting, sexy??? goodness no. When the urge to vomit passed she looked up at him, hands behind is back acting like she just confessed her undying love to him ..as if ..
"You wanna die?" Olive asked threatened, glowering at that smug stupid face of his. Look at him.. so stupid olive. Personal questions should NOT ever be discussed with Franklin. NEVER. It was the cardinal rule in terms of getting along with him. So long as you didn't cross that boundary, he could be a decent guy. But once that line was crossed.. there was no going back except of course until after a very violent, painful beating.

Frank sighed and slumped against the seat. "Whatever. I knew it was too good to be true." He looked suddenly somber, pensieve. "I just thought it would be nice to date a girl before--well, before it was time to go.." A single tear made its way down his left cheek as he met her gaze, and Frank attempted to smile.

Olive stared at him blankly.
The tear threw her off, and not because she felt emotionally obligated to comfort him, but more so because she couldn't believe that Frank thought that sort of shit would even work on her, having never been known for her 'soft side'. In fact, it was not too long before that she had broken Cadence at the winter ball until he was at tears, and still felt not a speck of remorse. Frank was evidently off his rocker, or maybe conflicted with more pressing matters.. whatever the case, Olive was not moved. And totally not buying it.
"Would you grow a pair?!" she grunted, shoving him lightly because well he was going through 'something', even if it was a 'something' she could not empathize with. "There's still next year. No need to get your panties in a bunch. Just I dunno.. this summer work on not making girls... want to vomit and uhm.." she searched her mind for other advice, but she herself was in the dark in all this "...flossing!" she nodded, this was the best she could muster in terms of condolences.

Franked reached out to smack her hand away in frustration. "Well shit, thanks for ruining it. I was gonna give you the whole 'I have an incurable disease and my last dying wish is for someone to love me' spiel, but NOOO you had to ruin it with your insults." Frank stopped to dig into his pocket for a handful of vomit flavored jelly beans (which weren't really so bad once you got used to them) and popped a few into his mouth before continuing. "I don't need your pity anyway. I could get a girl any time I wanted." He tried to come up with some kind of witty remark that would no doubt put Olive in her place, but came up empty. "I just prefer to focus on my studies..." There seemed to be no end to the supply of jelly beans stuffed into the pocket of his trousers. Frank kept downing them like a fiend as he contemplated the true state of his love life.
Frank was actually a romantic and an avid reader of trashy romance novels. The truth was Frank didn't just want a girlfriend, he wanted to a soulmate, like in his books. He was willing to wait however long it took to find his one true love. Until then, he vowed to stay away from hookers and girls with loose morals.
Frank still felt obligated to play the part of the sleezy bastard from time to time though. He was a fifteen year old boy after all, with raging hormones and whatnot.
"Anyway, shouldn't you be making googly eyes at Colin by now?" He silently prayed she'd get the hint and leave him the hell alone already.

Olive watched as he gorged angrily on handful after handful of jellybeans, it seemed nothing but choking could stop his aggressive eating out burst. She bit down on her lip in an attempt to stop herself from laughing, It was hard not to. He was kind of funny when he got all 'rawrr why dont you let me try and woo you' When his anger finally subsided and he mentioned Colin she rolled her eyes. Colin was the last thing she wanted to think about at this point. He was always like... like.... me. And then it dawned on her that she was treating Frank like Colin treated her. She smiled guiltily and shook her head,
"Nope. I wanna hear about this incurable disease of yours" she gently made to grasp his hand and mustered her most genuine face before asking "tell me, how long do you have left?"
Maybe she'd regret this.. maybe it'd make him more pissed.. but he did cheer her up so it was the least she could do for him, even if his hand smelled a little bit like vomit and would likely make her own smell like it too.
