Outside the walls of Hogwarts night slowly overtook day; rich pastels shifted to deep navy dotted liberally with shimmering stars and a bright moon, almost full.
The halls were all but completely empty. It was almost curfew and most were settling themselves inside their common rooms. Others wandered, making their way through the halls at a leisurely pace, Nova was one of those few. Her black cloak billowed behind her, fighting Nova’s forward movements down a flight of stairs. Close by, a slight breeze carried through a window as it gave way to the darkening outside. Nova stopped abruptly, setting the few books formerly cradled in her arms onto the cold stone floor.
Hanging out the window, Nova gazed bellow, her heart beginning to beat quicker than the normal rate as sight of the far off ground sent adrenaline through her body. Her gaze slowly shifted up, her elbows balanced on the hard stone window. Nova’s eyes longingly scanned the sky. It’s so big, she thought in awe. "Endless," she muttered audibly. Leaning out farther, Nova craned her neck upward, catching sight of the stars even more above her.
Distracted by her own curiosity, the sound of soft footprints evaded her detection until they were almost right on top of her, spooking her. Nova jumped slightly, catching herself on the window before she become too off balance, letting out a yelp of surprise and fright before whipping around to face whomever had startled her.

Batty was like a deer caught in headlights as the 'girl' named 'nova' whipped around so suddenly, it took her completely by surprise that she could do nothing more than stare back, like a mirrored reflection, both girls were equally terrified but for very different reasons. Her senses have become sharper.. Batty noted to herself fearfully.
Over the years she'd curiously watched and observed her strange classmate, at first it was the little things. Like how everything she said were jut so quaint, very 'pc' no more bad than good. It was unnatural. Then there was the fact that everyone kind of knew her but didn't, what was up with that??? How do you know a person without really knowing them. It was as if everyone was under a trance, some sort of 'magic' in order to evade suspicions. An alien, no doubt about it.
And the day for an invasion was near... she could sense it.
"h-hey nova..." she stuttered, trying to sound as casual as she could. Which to any listener would describe it as 'on the brink of wetting ones pants' "w-what're you doing just standing there? waiting for an owl? dropped something? communicatingwithyourpeoples?" she mumbled the last bit so it was barely above a whisper. She couldn't help it, her heart was pounding so fast it was hard to differentiate the voices in her head from the ones she spoke.
