Unsurprisingly, the Hogwarts library smelled like old books. Harriet would have known where she was blindfolded. Of course, she wasn't blindfolded, so she was also able to take in the sight of students studying, and cheery, January sunlight streaming in through bright, freshly house-elf washed windows. The Gothic romance novels along the west wall were tempting, but she was here to research inanimate to animate transfiguration for class. She firmly turned her back on the tales of mystery and forbidden love, and looked instead for someone to help her.
"Um ... excuse me?" she said timidly, afraid to speak much more loudly than a whisper in the library.

James roamed through the back of the library looking for a a certain book. On his shoulder sat his arm guard but no Helios the phoenix, instead the large bird sat on the top of the book shelf with a piece of paper in his claws. James reached up taking the paper "The book of defense against dark creatures" He read aloud he then saw the location listed on the paper. He turned around seeing the book and smiled. "There you are" He says smiling as he takes it out and begins to walk away from the books.
"Excuse me"
It was a soft voice "Hm" He mumbled as the bird leaped onto his shoulder and they walked over to where the girl was. "Yess" He says smiling looking over at here. "What's up" Helios let out a small chirp.
James wore his black robes but wore a red shirt under it and no sweater vest. He also wore black jeans obviously not following dress code. He walked up to her "What do you need" He asked curious

Post by Caoimhe Uisce on May 4, 2016 13:41:27 GMT -5
The list of things Caoimhe loved more than being surrounded by towering shelves crammed with books of every description was very, very short. The little merrow was currently perched on her librarian’s desk, feet swinging idly as she flicked through a book on dragons someone had just returned. Today, she had dressed in a simple black pleated skirt that brushed her knees, a cozy powder-blue cable knit jumper, and her favourite pair of ankle boots, the gold ones with the slender heels. Concealed under the jumper was a tiered grey t-shirt with the words “I’d rather be a mermaid” printed in bold, black letters; the shirt was a gift from one of her sisters as a sort of joke, and while Caoimhe adored the gift to pieces, she took Finn’s advice and only wore it underneath her jumpers and jackets lest anyone catch on to her charade.
The little merrow was about to set the dragon tome in the book cart and select another from the teetering pile of returned books beside her when she heard the faint call of a student in distress. Well, maybe not distress, but definitely in need of some assistance. Eager to help, Caoimhe hopped daintily from the counter and began to search for the source of the whispered plea for help.
“Hello yes hi!” she said by way of greeting as she approached the young Hufflepuff. It seemed another student had come to the girl’s aid as well, and the thought brought a smile to Caoimhe’s face; there was nothing better than knowing her students were looking out for one another. “I am here now if you are still wanting some help!”
