Name: Caoimhe Uisce (Kee-va Ish-ka)
House: Gryffindor
Year/Age: 5th / "15" (110-115)
Face/Celebrity: Anastasia Zhidkova
Blood: Merrow
Wand: None, but she carries around a fake so she can blend in with the rest of the wizarding world.
Personality: Being the youngest of twenty-five siblings, Caoimhe is selfless, shy, and serene. She abhors violence and surrounds herself with positivity and charm. Being a merrow in a predominantly human world tends to be a constant source of excitement for the young merrow, as virtually everything she sees is new to her, and she gladly engages in any form of human activity, especially dance. She values bravery and loyalty, as she feels she personally lacks these qualities.
Likes: Shiny things; dancing; round baubles; engaging in human activities; rainstorms; playing music for people; contagious laughter; swimming; helping people find what they’re looking for; flattery
Dislikes: Loud noises; unnecessary violence; being unable to use her merrow magic; not knowing what happened to her stolen merrow belongings (cape and cohuleen druith); strong body odour and unnatural scents; disorganization; lying
Favorite Class(es): Care of Magical Creatures
Least Favorite class(es): Defense Against the Dark Arts
Pets: No pets, but she does have two merrow ‘guides’ to help her adjust to life on land. The first guide is a chill, laid-back turtle named Lappekonen (Lapp) who feels that Caoimhe should take things as they come and not worry over the details - according to Lappekonen, things happen for a reason, and there’s no point in worrying over things you cannot control. On the other hand, Finnekonen (Finn), a dramatic koi fish, is of the rigid belief that you should grab your own life by the reins and go after what it is you want, otherwise you’ll be left behind in the dust with nowhere to go but down, down, down. Since both creatures need to be near a source of water to live comfortably - and in Finnekonen’s case, in order to survive - Caoimhe cannot simply keep them in her pocket. Instead, she has a pair of earrings that simulate Lappekonen and Finnekonen’s perfect habitat, and before she leaves her dorm, she gingerly removes each guide from their tanks and places them inside the fishbowl earrings, one guide to each earring. The earrings are enchanted to accompany the creatures comfortably so they are able to advise Caoimhe in her day-to-day living and to help her blend in with the humans of Hogwarts.
Open:Yep. Merrow. Only the faculty of Hogwarts knows. Unless of course she told you, which isn’t very likely merrows are hunted for their magical properties, and no one really wants to spend their days dodging bounty hunters. She has an odd accent that cannot be placed, and is working as the Hogwarts librarian under an exchange student workplace program. Smells like an ocean breeze in the spring time.
