So, I was talking to Critter and she was tellin' me that she always wanted to see Trent's kids played out. In certain universes, Trent has, like, four little puppers who are super spoiled and loved by their sad dad. But I have zero information written on them, as this was all theory and Trent is normally pretty irresponsible as person.

That being said, Trent is probably at his most irresponsible in this current universe, so!

Do note that I don't believe that Charlie would be a werewolf. I don't think that's how it works. I don't know. But I also don't care if they're a werewolf, that's your choice. Giving them dog-like habits could be a good & cute middle ground tho!

Here's the backstory! Around age 20-23, Trent's long term girlfriend dumped him and went back home to live with her parents / get herself a Real Life and a Real Job and distance herself from what was holding her back from living her life normally. Namely, Trent and their beat down apartment and lack of structure. I've always pictured her falling out of love with him as she got older and started knowing what she wanted to do in life. Katherine and Trent had been dating since their 6th year, and shit just changes, u kno?

Trent was attacked his 7th year, so I want to emphasize that their relationship was so tight and structured that she supported and helped him through his suffering. As well as the fact that Trent supported her through her own emotional issues, such as coping with her horrific purist father and her... unfortunate past encounters with men.

So, that's to really point out that his werewolfism had nothing to do with it.

I always pictured her becoming an architect or an enchanter, something like that.

Anyway.

Part of the reason she left was because she was pregnant and didn't want to be tied down in a relationship that was only hanging on because they were still friends. Despite hating her dad, I see her moving back in with him for the sake of his support. They're a shitty pureblood family and Kat thoroughly rejected it, so I can easily see her taking and her kid and leaving the first chance she got.

Kat is reclusive and quiet, and is kind of really cold to people she doesn't know. She was the artsy goth chick who doodled in the back of class and sassed people who said stupid things, all grown up [edit: i should really add that in my own oc au, kat and Ana Gray are bffs, so!!!]. However, I see her being very kind to her kid, and wanting what's best for them. Seeing as she, herself, grew up dancing around the weirder side of things, she gives Charlie a lot of leeway to do what they want.

Here's the idea! Trent does not know he has a kid. Katherine tried to contact him in the past, but he ignored her. Not out of spite or anger, but because he simply couldn't cope with it. She's the only person who ever rejected him and he didn't throw a fit. He accepted it, let her go, and cries into his pillow about it every so often. He didn't want to talk to her, because he knew he couldn't Just Be Friends. She's hurt by this, but knows him well enough to know he's not doing it on purpose.

So, if you make an upcoming 1st year, they could know who their dad is and go looking for him. Wubby joked they could have a note from Katherine to give to Trent, like a "THIS IS YOUR KID" pinned to their shirt kind of deal.

If they're older than that, they could finally find out who their dad is when their mom finds out Trent is a professor. Approach him about it when they can. They could totally also have a letter, bc I think that idea is p cute and straightforward.

So. It'd be wacky and fun. Trent would totally embrace a kid, even if they're kinda shitty, even tho He's Kinda Shitty. We can take it from there B)
