There was probably a reason no one else had been eating lunch outside that day. Cosmo didn't really get it, not at first at least. She had a peaceful picnic by her lonesome, where the day was relatively nice albeit a bit chilly due to overcast. Everyday in the UK seemed to be overcast, as long as it wasn't summer. Those warmer days were coming sooner than later, and the green haired girl was sorta thankful for that. She enjoyed spending time outside, but she hated almost everything about being outside, so it sorta complicated things. Cosmo was the type to miss the fall when it was summer, and to miss summer when it was fall. A never ending cycle of missing everything, never realizing she just hated the weather. That was a strong word, anyway.
Despite acknowledging the grey sky, she was still surprised to find herself caught in rain. Her gaze shot up when a raindrop plopped onto the wrappings of her rice sandwich, an "Oh!" gasping from her rounded lips. She only had time to grab her bag before it began to drizzle, and she lodged her lunch into her mouth as she ran. Inwardly, she cursed herself for being so out of shape, because by the time she sought shelter beneath one of the courtyard overhangs, it was pouring. Perhaps it was an optimistic belief that she could have outran the rain, but she still had a bit more confidence in herself than to expect whatever the hell that slow, sorta penguin-esque jog was.
Releasing her sandwich, she folded it back up and placed it into her front cardigan pocket, to be saved for later. There wasn't a whole lot that she could do... Unless, maybe, she would try to use her wand as an umbrella and book it to a door. But. Cosmo considered the possibilities. She could go inside and find something to do, and be kinda bored, and finish her lunch or whatever. Or, she could enjoy her time despite the rain. The rain was nice, in its own way, even though it ruined the spot she grew to rather fancy.
So her hand paused in her bag, over her wand. She grabbed her melodica instead.
There was a time where Cosmo really wanted an iguana to play for, since she once saw a video of an iguana having a good time while someone played a flute. That's what Cosmo wanted. She knew how to take care of reptiles, sorta. But, her mom didn't really trust her... And Cosmo didn't really trust her mom... Animals were hard. In her loneliest moments, she sort of thought on that. Hibiscus liked her music, she thought. At least, Hibiscus seemed to float to the rhythm. Or something.
Past the beat of the rain, one could hear the chirpy tune of "On Melancholy Hill" floating through the courtyard. Cosmo swayed lightly along with it, watching the puddles form in the divots and cracks along the cobblestone. She only sort of remembered how the song went.
