Harriet made an unsuccessful grab for the glass. "OH! But it ..." She was going to warn 'has alcohol in it' before she checked herself. Surely he knew that. That's probably why he wanted it. He was probably seventeen. He looked seventeen. She looked at him apprehensively as he drank from her glass. She tucked some hair behind her ear, and then scratched her elbow even though it didn't itch. Without her glass, her hands had nothing to do and awkward Harriet was awkward. Cadence Strife

He lazily drank from his cup until it was empty and frowned "Now I got to get up" He mumbled before standing. He smirked and walked away from the couch seeing all the people. "I really should've kept Helios with me" He mumbled as he walked trying to avoid as many people as possible before getting to the spirits. "AH home field advantage."
He smiled as he grabbed a can of soda pouring it into his cup. He then poured in a a small amount of rum followed by whiskey. He smiled and took a drink from it coming away from it with a content look. "I suppose I should mingle" He says as he looks around.
He walked towards where cadence was keeping his eyes down towards his drink. He wasn't scared, just cautious. It's not that he hates people, just most made him uncomfortable. He looked around seeing if he could find anyone he recognized.

Caoimhe beamed at the eagle’s affections, threading her fingers between Dani’s as the younger girl leaned in to divulge her party secrets. The little merrow peered at the array of drinks Daniyah was perfecting, her amethyst eyes filled with wonder as she tried to decide which elegant long-stemmed glass she should claim for her own. Amidst the selection was a startlingly pink concoction trimmed in equally-shocking-pink sugar, and the moment the merrow spotted it, she knew it was the one.
“Is this one belonging to anyone?” she asked of Daniyah. Before her eagle friend could reply, however, a voice from behind caught her attentions and Caoimhe turned to invite the newcomer into the conversation.
"Wow, girl. You look like a figure skater, wow. So cool. Or like, a prom queen. Figure skating is like, so fuckin' rad, though."
The compliment was a rambling one, but one that Caoimhe appreciated all the same. An eye-crinkling smile spread quickly across her features and she pulled Kai into a snuggling hug.
“It is good to be seeing you Kaimana,” the merrow exclaimed, her words somewhat muted against the fabric of Kai’s floral jacket. “And thanks to you on your kind words! I am not knowing what a ‘figure skater’ is but you are making them sound very nice.”
Daniyah’s brother did not linger long before flittering away back into the crowd, leaving Caoimhe and Dani to their own devices. Before long, Olive appeared in a pink dress to outdo all other pink dresses, and Caoimhe gasped her approval.
"The only lion I've seen is standing here. You know Caoimhe I take it? She's just wonderful, I'm still trying to convince her to tell me who does her hair. I don't think I've seen anything so shiny and healthy in my life."
“You are knowing all the things to be saying to make me smile!” Caoimhe trilled, nuzzling her forehead into the crook of Dani’s shoulder. “My secret is being that I take a lot of time in the baths.”
This was the entire truth of the matter; as the Hogwarts librarian, Caoimhe had unrestricted access to the librarian’s quarters which, among its many advantages, happened to have its own bathroom with the most elaborate bathtub the little merrow had ever seen in her life. Though she was unable to return to the Lake until her magical belongings were located, she had to spend at least an hour every day submerged in water lest she get sick. She had only missed one bath at the beginning of the school year, and the effects of this single mishap had been disastrous; overnight, strands of silver hair had fallen from her scalp and her already delicate skin began to peel, leaving a mess of scale-like debris on her pillow for her to find in the morning. She never missed another bath after that.
“Olive I am loving your dress,” the merrow continued, folding her housemate into a cozy embrace while taking great pains to ensure she didn’t spill a drop of her drink onto the younger girl’s wonderful pink dress. “We must be trading closets some time!”
As several students approached the table to greet their wonderful hostess, the lioness smiled at all of them in turn between taking cautious sips from her crystal goblet. Some of the newcomers she knew, while others were still strangers to her; although she knew their faces from around the castle, she didn’t know their names or which houses they were from, but she made sure to not leave a single one out of the circle. After all, the best part of parties was meeting new people!
“Hello!” She greeted a girl in gold, a girl in red, and a gentleman in an immaculate black suit. She watched as the boy in the suit plucked a drink from the hands of the girl in gold, and wondered if it was commonplace to share drinks at a gathering such as this, and if she should be sharing as well. “I am not knowing your names or if I am I am forgetting them. I am Caoimhe and this is my pink drink for sharing!”
Perfect.

Kensi knew from the moment that she put her heels on, she should have went with a different shoe all together but they were honestly cute. Yep it was true that her feet would pay the price but her plan now was to get so drunk that she did not even notice. Quietly she made her way over to the blue liquid, found a glass, filled it and began to drink.

All he wanted to do was sip in peace, possibly tell the young lady in the gold dress that she needed to join Dani one day and the both of them needed to burn their terrible clothes. However he did not need to be rude. If he was too rude to to many people, surely they would eventually plot to harm him. That made him slightly laugh but it was not a laugh that was seen. Cadence: Nice to meet you, he said to the girl whom had thrown her name out there. Ugh, he started over since he needed to be proper. Cadence: Nice to meet you Caoimhe. He turned and put his glass down and spoke again. It was not that he did not like people but too many at once. Plus the way Caoimhe spoke literally made him giggle slightly but he knew giggling at someone was wrong. Then there was the young lady who could not be much older than 13, if that. Didn't she know proper etiquette meant never doing anything with your elbows. None the less if she was nervous or uncomfortable it was easily to forget etiquette. None the less he spoke to her now. Cadence: Come with me a second, Less people had to help didn't it? As he waited for her to answer him, he looked up and seen James. Cadence waved. [@harriet , Caoimhe Uisce ]

Olive heard the gasp and instantly felt herself sink just a bit more. Yes.. horrifying, as if me in a dress wasn't bad enough... she thought to herself ruefully. She knew Kiwi well enough to know that when she said things she really meant them. So while it was somewhat reassuring to know that somebody liked her outfit, it was kind of hard to see that as a positive attribute. I mean.. come on, this was coming from the girl who wore fishbowls for earrings! Yeah they were kinda cute but.. fishbowls... really? "Tell you what, the dress is all yours after tonight. My gift to you." because I'd rather be caught dead than wear this again, Olive gave a feeble smile to her friend and then took a sip from the drink in her hand, anything to keep her mind off the fact that she was a walking flamingo. As the drink touched her lips she knew something was off, first there was the inescapable smell, a rough sort of sour smell, and also just a fifth sense that this wasn't a good idea. But it was too late to turn back now because the drink was already halfway down her throat, burning her esophagus and shocking her senses. She'd never had an alcoholic beverage in her life. "BLERUGHHJEFUHFUE wtf is that???!!!" Olive gasped loudly, and pulled the cup away from her lips so quickly it almost spilled over onto Kiwi, instead it spilled off onto Cadence. "I'm--- notsorry" she admitted rather blatantly and felt her eyes widen as if surprised by her own admission. "I mean.. I'm reeaalllyy not." ..... wtf... Her brows furrowed in confusion. Well... that was strange. ( Caoimhe Uisce , Cadence Strife )

"Oh, okay. What could you possibly want with me?" Harriet responded as she moved away from the larger group, following Cadence. She hadn't actually meant to say that last part aloud, but she felt something compelling her to be ... extra truthful. She looked back over her shoulder at Olive's exclamation over the alcohol and felt a bit better that she wasn't the only one who'd received a bit of a shock over it.

It was bad enough to have drink spilled on him, but on his suit, oh heck no. It was not like he wanted to dress up but since he had the last thing he wanted was someone messing it up. He watched her eyes widen. He felt his bottom lip slowly go into his mouth. For the most part, he was simply rude and only a little honest, but when he opened his mouth, all of his honesty poured out as far as this drink spilling incident. He spoke directly to Olive Greene . "Wow, so you're clumsy on purpose. That's great to know so now everyone will know to avoid you because who would ever want to associate themselves with a complete klutz." Normally he knew the difference between internal thoughts and speaking thoughts but it seemed the two were slowly becoming mixed. He placed his hand on Olive's shoulder and spoke again. "Get better with your balance the next time you want to stand in the same vicinity as me okay?" He then turned his attention to the younger girl. What could he possibly want with her? What, it was not like he was going to hurt her. He turned and spoke to @harriet . "Because we all have to start somewhere," he said as he put his face down so that they were eye to eye. He leaned over and slightly tucked her hair behind her ear so that he could whisper into it, as he kept his hands behind his back. He could be respectful, but he did not want people all in his business. "Besides, I'm the most trust worthy individual at this party." He lifted his head up and looked at her, as innocently as possible. His light brown eyes flickered a bit. "No lies detected here."

The party was mediocre at best, Judge had had better at petting zoo's as a child. The drinks were the only part so far that'd been a highlight for the evening, but then he saw her at the drink table so with his fox likes smile he pushed himself up and stalked over to her.
"I'd advise strongly against tha' drink pretty lady," he offered his two cents, "But if tha' be yer fancy then here's to both of us! Name's Judge," he held his glass up to cheers.

"Wow.. That's gotta be the lamest come back I have ever heard in my life" Olive stated rather blatantly at Cadence's attempt to set her straight. It was laughable at best. So clumsy at best?? Really? What did that even mean anyway . "Why didn't you just say my face looks stupid and call me a booger?!!" Honestly now.. he'd probably have been better off going with that, at least in that case she could laugh with good reason, out of it being an absurdly stupid remark. But this.. bah. She watched as Cadence made to escape and turn his attentions elsewhere, and who could blame him? That lame come back embarrassed her just listening to it. She couldn't imagine how it felt to actually be the one to say it. Olive gulped down the rest of her drink to get her mind off of everything, something felt different in the way that she was so... so.. open. Yes sure, normally she was quite open and blunt, duhh. Thats what Gryffindors were. But normally she had a filter for some things. Olive had just began to turn away from it all when she couldn't help but notice the closeness and proximity between Harriet and Cadence. Harriet.. her friend Harriet, her YOUNG friend Harriet. The one that played with dolls still.. the one that you know.. was HARRIET. Olive quickly stepped in between them, shoving Cadence for good measure and growled. "Hey hey hey hold it there perv, step away from the girl before I have to throw a huge and unnecessary scene and make threats that I cannot keep" Wait what.... Olive gaped for a moment confused unsure... whaaaat?? that was SO not what she wanted to say. Where did the awesome threat go?? She felt her face flush red and hot, "That was what I meant" DAMMIT. NO. "I would say that I don't mean it but I do.. I really do.." YOU TRAITOR!!!!! UGH. Why was this happening?!?! ( Cadence Strife & @harriet )

While Kai spoke Llewellyn had looked up and become distracted by the hanging glacier lights whose illuminated droplets trickled down above them. There wasn't a whole lot about the conversation that had made it into his brain bathed and steeped deeply into a hot alchemical deep fry. He reached up and brushed his fingertips to the lights that swayed slightly. They weren't hot like electric lights nor were they connected in any apparent way. Standing on his tiptoes he tried to grab one, but as he closed his fingers around its glowing ethereal body it shifted into a butterfly, fluttering up to the top of the ceiling and out of Llewellyn's grasp. Magic still amazed Llewellyn despite it being his sixth year. He looked down at Kai eager to demonstrate his newest discovery but upon glancing up again the butterfly had vanished. Briefly he wondered why it had left and where it had gone, but didn't dwell on the thought as Kai's voice pierced his train of thought. His arm fell back down to his side. Llewellyn grinned widely in a goofy sort of way at the compliment, reaching up and smoothing his hands across his cosmos camouflaged shirt. He hadn't been too certain of it, but if Kai thought it was cool then it must have been. He was only the coolest dude he knew! "I thought it looked kind of dumb. I didn't want to look like right scrub since Dani got all pissed because I wore a Bright Eyes tee to her last party. She's right scary when she's mad, as in she makes you feel really bad," he responded truthfully. "But I still feel like a fuckin' wet sponge with these posh lads." Llewellyn took a moment to consider their company. Honestly, just looking around freaked him out a little. Was everyone being a jerk or was it just the outset of a bad trip rearing its ugly head? He watched as two students lamely insulted each other and shook his head. "Let's go out for a spliff yeah? I think the walls are vibratin'," he said, gently pulling on Kai's elbow before exiting the igloo. Outside there were still a few students hanging around, mostly sharing cigarettes and chatting about their clothes. In truth, Llewellyn found the entire scenery dreadfully vapid and would have preferred heading to one of the Hogsmeade pubs instead, but he wouldn't ruin the atmosphere. He tread several feet through the snow until there was adequate distance between himself and the rest of the attendees. He watched his breath fog the air as he lit up a prerolled smoke. Kaimana Ohme

Kai was feeling pretty hazy, and he wasn't quite sure if it was the atmosphere or all in his head. He began swaying once again, unconsciously this time, like following wave in those old, Irish waters. Bobbing rhythmically. It was peaceful, to him at least. The world was unsure around him, blending in. It was times like this where he could feel his thoughts flowing, feel his body moving but warmly and fluidly, in an inward sense of peace. Like being home, only home was the shell of his body and he was snug and cozy from the chaotic world outside. Safe and sound. Unable to be broken. That sense of self would always be there, no matter what. He could warp and change with the passing of time, but his conscious was his to keep; an ocean of memories and emotions that made him exist as an entity. His form was that of what he made himself, embraced himself. The crowd around him was merely a whisper now. Reality was debatable, all he truly knew was himself. He was but a soul seeing what it wanted to see. He opened his eyes, watching Llewellyn's fingers reach for one of the dangling lights. He smiled softly to himself. When the light popped, he flicked his head back curtly, "Dude, what?" He watched the butterfly flutter away, and he couldn't help but laugh. What was he saying before? Oh, right. "You look so tight, though. These posh lads wish they could represent like that," Kai began, licking the rim of his glass for remnants of punch, "Besides, who cares what they think, yeah? You're mintier than the best of 'em." Kai glanced around the crowd, as if to confirm his statement. Yes, it was true. Minty fresh, rockin' and stylin'. Who knew Kai was going to be hanging around the Belle of the Ball! Kai smiled widely, the tip of his tongue caught between white teeth. He wasn't sure what was making him feel so right. Perhaps the cake? But clearly he was having a better time than his friend. "Let's go out for a spliff yeah? I think the walls are vibratin',""Aight, lemme get some more of this blue drank, though," Kai started toward the punch bowl, "Why didn't you just say my face looks stupid and call me a booger?!!""Aight, never mind, let's bounce," Kai turned back around, placing the cup down on the nearest table, and let his friend pull him by his arm without a fight. Why was everyone being so... Needlessly rude? He couldn't wrap his head around it. It was like watching a fight within a dream, where it was obviously aggressive and hurtful, but the words didn't match. The arguments weren't fitting in right. Outside, Kai couldn't help but give pause, a hearty laugh bellowing from his stomach. "God, what the hell is happening?" He shook his head, "Where even are we, am I right? Some alternate universe shit goin' on." Nothing was normal tonight. But he followed close to his friend, eyes glancing back at the igloo momentarily, before letting it fall behind them for good. He took in the frozen grounds that skirted the lake, let the cold breathe into his skin. Turning back, he waited patiently for his hit, a beauty within itself (after all, what was more beautiful than a shared spliff?), and rested his arm on his friend's shoulder. Kai gently wrapped his chilling fingers around Llewellyn's as he pulled it away, slipping the cigarette out from his grasp to between his own lips. Kai had a habit of being too close for comfort, he knew this, and he backed up to give a bit more space. "Ah, fuck the party. I woulda been wantin' to spend time with you, anyhow," The smoke rose up into the stars and Kai's gaze followed. He waved off the igloo and gave his friend a flippant smirk, before passing the spliff once more. Llewellyn Ludlow honest kai is the same just more talkative apparently EDIT: oh oops! Olive Greene was mentioned! also i was listening to this and it rly fit the atmosphere and im half asleep but i love the matching vibes ok

[[sorry, sorry, I'm here!]]
Daniyah Ohme welcomed her warmly enough a apologized for the thing in the Library, to which Davina shrugged. Daniyah hadn't started it, even though she didn't really help the situation. Dale was the one that was making a point to be as intrusive and abrasive as possible. Davina was just minding her own business. Plus, Dani had brought tea, and there's something to be said about that. "It's fine, I make it a point to give him a hard time so you were just kind of the bystander... with tea." She gave the Ravenclaw a little grin. "Plus you kind of threw him off for a bit until he insulted you. He's lucky he didn't talk to me like that." Though she hadn't exactly stood up for Dani while it happened, which would have been more helpful in retrospect, Davina had made sure Dale knew what a douche he was.
The party's hostess turned and poured her a blue drink, which she accepted with another small smile. She was glad that Daniyah had the same aversion to Dale, and at least that was something they could bond over. The girl in the gold dress stated the obvious, and Daniyah confirmed its contents. She was offered pumpkin juice, which made Davina laugh and take a sip of her spiked drink. If there was ever a time to let loose, this was the time. Plus, what serious harm could a little bit of spirits do? The drink was fruity, but the distinct bitterness of alcohol was present. Davina had only had a few sips of different things this past summer holiday, but nothing that had tasted quite like this.
Davina let her head bob to the music and take moderate sips of her drink while she watched her schoolmates start walking in and start socializing. Olive Greene had a weird look on her face while she seemed to be confronting someone in her weird outfit. Cadence Strife was being weird and pulled the gold-dress girl the side like a creeper like he did with the Professor. Davina thought he might have to give him incentive to stop being such an inappropriate weirdo to girls. "I have to say," she to Daniyah, "you did a great job. Everyone is being their weird self, but I guess that's a good sign you threw a good party."

Being Cadence was emotionally draining. He had always been taught that as you got older things would get easier but that was nothing but bull crap. Anyway he was all good until Olive said what she had to say. It made him want to cry, not because it was anywhere near the truth, but because him crying meant he was angry. Angry Cadence is fun but very destructive and harmful, oh well. Cadence: It's not even like that. Now usually when he spoke, his voice did not boom but it was louder than it was at the moment. Cadence: Great job Olive, you've got me all emotional and in my feelings. He did not like anyone doing anything that put him there. Hell he was weird enough as it was without someone making him want to go hide in a corner, scrunch up like he was a baby in the womb and just disappear. That was when he felt it. The warm sensation of what would later be described by others as a tear, well tears now, falling from his eyes. Still he stood there. Cadence: Anything else Olive? She got one more shot before he would drag her kicking and screaming out of this party and use that god awful pink dress to wrap around her neck and strangle her. He could see it now, her eyes popping out of her head and his beard being the last thing she ever saw. [ Olive Greene]

She slowly looked up. Oh, he was talking to her. "Judge?" Wow, his parents must have despised him straight out of the womb. She took slight notice of his smile and kept her face straight. She was not judging him. He had not actually spoke enough words for that yet, not accurately anyhow. "Ken," she said as she raised her glass up and slightly clinked his. It was a light sounding clink, barely heard over all of the commotion anyhow. "Not to be so forward, but.." How to say it without being rude. "Pretty lady? What number female am I that you have called that?" Once again not being rude, she was just curious.
